Red purred as she felt the licks on her head and she smiled up at Kai. She then bent down and took a large bite out of the rabbit, giving a purr of satisfaction as she finished it in a few bites. She licked her lips the sniffed the air, catching the scent of something...odd, it was definitely a new smell but it had traces of mud and wet fur as well as droppings. She crouched down and followed the scent until she came across a creature lapping at the water of a flowing stream, it had a short tail with a tuft of fur at the end of it as well as flopped ears, a round body and sharp things curving from its mouth. This creature was bigger than red. She licked her lips and smiled as she crouched down lower and slowly approached the creature. She got up right behind it without it even noticing her as she leaped into the air and landed on the creature's back, causing it to let out a loud squeal as it began to move frantically, bucking its legs to try and shake Red off but this just caused her to dig in her claws to hold on tighter. It took her a moment to finally get her bearing and lean forward with one front paw extended. She slashed the creature's throat, causing it to turn immediately at Red and make a deep cut along her leg with its large white thing as it slowly lost its life and fell to the ground. Red staggered onto her feet but fell down again as the seering pain from the cut shot through her body and she whined.

Kai followed her and watched her as she left towards whatever she went to, confused. As he made it to her, she had just gotten rid of the creature, his eyes were wide and he quickly went to her. "Red, what happened?" He asked and cleaned the blood off of her wound, after cleaning most of it, he lay next to her. "Think you can climb on my back?" He asked and gave her a worried look, she was easy prey laying there, so he needed to take her back to their cave and take care of it, or try to at least.

Red gave Kai a smile and choacked out "Y-yeah, I'm f-fine, the stupid creature just g-got me a b-bit." She attempted to stand again, causing her legs to shiver, shake, and bend back down on themselves. She gritted her teeth and licked the side of Kai's muzzle "S-sorry, I c-can't m-move."

Before she reached the ground, Kai caught her by the scruff and picked her up before he started heading towards their cave and lay her down where they had slept the night before. "What do you have?" He asked worriedly as he examined the wound.

She winced as she was laid down and chuckled when he asked that. She slowly lifted up her bloody leg "I just have a scratch, it's not that bad, I'll be fine." Just as she said that she lowered her leg and winced at the pain of moving it. She looked down at it and it had begun to pour blood again, causing her face to turn just a bit paler than normal.

Kai gazed at her. "That scratch looks nothing near fine." He said and started kicking the blood off as it started to pour out again. "I really do not know what to do in those circumstances." He said and gave her a worried look. "We really need to attend to this, you could faint from blood loss otherwise." He added and nuzzled her cheek.

Red tried to smile as he nuzzled her cheek but the pain restricted her and instead she let her head fall gently onto her front paws as she attempted to keep her eyes open. Just as she did that, two voices emerged from the woods "Are you sure it was near here?" "Yeah, I could smell blood! And a lot of it!" Slowly, two foxes emerged from the woods and peered into the cave, they gasped as they saw Kai hovering over Red and the blood on her leg made it stand out. Red slowly looked over to them and their familiar smell filler her lungs, Twig and Charlie. "Hey, are you two okay?" Twig called out warily.

Kai was incredibly worried for his mate and kept on licking the blood off of her fur, he had some on the side of his muzzle. His ears perked as he heard someone and he looked over at the entrance of the cave, as he saw Twig and Charlie, he frowned a little, he had told these two to leave right? "I am, but can't quite say that for Red, I don't even know what attacked her, it happened when we were hunting." He explained before he looked at the wound again, he was really scared, he had no idea how to heal this!

Twig and Charlie muttered to each other for a moment before Charlie climbed onto Twig's back and peered over Kai to get a better look at Red. He quickly jumped off of him and Twig gave him a quick lick on the cheek as he looked over at Kai with both a scared and serious expression "Alright, well, if it's from a boar then it must be pretty deep and pretty long, luckily we've dealt with this kind of thing before with Vex and other foxes so we know what to do." Twig turned away and began to walk away with Charlie next to him but stopped to look back at Kai "If you want to know how to help her, follow us."
