He grinned. " want to get down to business ey? I like that!" he praised with a lift of his chin. " very well, we shall start with the basics . Absolutely no claws." he reminded only to walk around dustpaw. " now, we'll try a little something that s very simple but effective The Back Kick. And if you would, tell me what you think that is? "

Internally, he was shocked. he mostly got everything right! ..but he's just an apprentice ..I thought they weren't supposed to know much of anything ...
Giving a chuckle " well, the stomach is a bit low don't you think? Try aiming near the bottom of their chest. And or chin. " he said with a small smile. Bracing himself " try it on me. C'mon , give me all you got. " he meowed with a tail swish. he's small, he'll barely do any damage . " but for now, just in case. aim at my chest" he added. Even though dustpaw was young. .he didn't want a broken jaw.

Cranerose gasped at the sight of the star-rock. It was almost see-through, but at the same time it reflected the tiniest bit of light. It was beautiful! She stammered a thank you to Sharpclaw- his affection never seemed to end, and Cranerose felt truly lucky to be with him. She would treasure this stone.
"In that case, I have a present for you too," she said suddenly. "Close your eyes!" And as Sharpclaw closed his eyes, Cranerose reached in for a nuzzle.

At the sight of her tail waving, though, he went quiet, padding over as silently as he could with the crow dragging between his front legs. The bird was too big to carry any other way; it would lose some feathers, maybe get a few scratches, but it was dead. It wasn't like he was torturing the thing.
A strange scent hit his nose and he paused, one paw lifted. His ears swiveled around as he took in the odd scent of bird. At least it wasn't the possum. Ashstorm wasn't sure if the oversized rodent would go out of its way to fight them for some food, but he didn't want to risk it. Of course, there were plenty of birds that could do damage to a warrior, from hawks to owls. He grimaced as the crow's body rustled the leaves beneath him. Dropping it, he quickly covered it with some leaves and twigs before sniffing at the air again. Brow slightly furrowed, he glanced at Cherrybubble. Maybe she recognized it?

Cherrybubble silently began to creep towards the bushes she could smell the scent coming from, but it wasn't too long before she could spot the bird not too far off. It was very plump, with a tiny beak and very skinny legs. It's feathers were a rich brown color, and it's tiny, beady black eyes looked very unfocused. The black-and-white molly's ears flew upwards. "I've seen these birds before, in the twoleg house's garden a little further down that way." She whispered, pointing with her tail towards the direction the bird had come from. "There's a nasty dog there that protects them, as they are kind of dumb. But this one is all for our taking!" Her excited meow cut off as she instantly leaped for the bird, who squawked in surprise, but couldn't do much to defend itself, as Cherrybubble was already on top of it. She killed it quickly, sinking her teeth into it's plump neck, killing it quickly. "This was a lucky find!" She announced, tail waving in the air in triumph as she padded back towards Ashstorm, dropping the plump bird at his paws. Her green eyes held pride, and she nudged the bird with a delicate paw. "Don't know what they are called though, it's some weird name."

A simple little walk through the territory isn't going to make me suddenly trust him, no matter what Flintstar says happened on that trip." He rolled his eyes and huffed. "He can do all he wants to prove himself. Buckbranch will never be a deputy in my eyes. Now come on, we need to train. I'm not in the mood to talk about this." His tail flicked and he spun around, looking at his apprentice with bored green eyes. "What do you want to work on first, attack or defense?"
|
Moonpaw did want to know Songthorn's thoughts on something, and even though he said to drop the topic and get to training, which she also wanted to do, her curiosity was killing her. So as she was lining herself up from across the tomcat, she voiced her question with bright orange eyes, trying to seem innocently curious. "Do you think you'd make a good deputy?" She asked, waiting for a moment to see if he would answer. She decided to quickly add on, "and I think starting with defense would be best, I'm smaller so I probably need to have more time with that."

He allowed his gaze to wander as she spoke, tracking birds as they flitted through the branches and the occasional stray leaf that finally fluttered to the forest floor. One landed in front of his paws, and he paused to look at it. Its brown edges were frayed and it sported several holes. It may have seemed silly, but in a way, it reminded Buckbranch of himself.
Giving a mental shake, he told himself the thought was stupid, and once again began to follow the pair in front of him. His eyes flickered from the apprentice to Foxbound and back again. The admiration in Sagepaw's eyes stuck out like deathberries in a snowdirft, and he felt a pang of jealousy. Of course Sagepaw would think of Foxbound highly. Foxbound was perfect in every way. But Buckbranch? All he was, was a traitor. A traitor who had been named deputy by mistake.
Sagepaw's excited tone knocked him out of his thoughts, and he looked down at his apprentice. He couldn't stop the corners of his mouth quirking slightly upward in a small smile. "First of all, stop waving that tail around," he said, gently pinning it to the leaves. "If you swing it all over the place, every piece of prey will know you're there. Then you won't catch anything." At Foxbound's suggestion, he nodded, albeit hesitantly. "Yeah, that... that works. Whatever you say, I guess." He shrugged off handedly. First he had to go and screw up his whole life by going against Flintstar's decision in a Clan meeting openly. Then the whole Clan decided to hate him. Next, Flintstar decided he couldn't be trusted to do two things at once, and assigned Foxbound, who as already doing a million times better than Buckbranch could ever hope to do, as a co-mentor to Sagepaw. And then Sunsnow... it was as if a switch had been flipped. What had happened to the silly nicknames and the playful arguments? Or... had they ever been playful at all? Perhaps Sunsnow really hated him, and always had. Buckbranch's tail fell limp and his ears rotated backward. He pushed past Foxbound and Sagepaw sullenly.
|
The she-cat let out a small, light laugh at Sagepaw's enthusiasm, watching as Buckbranch gave him instruction about his wild tail. Though she caught the sudden change in his tone when he responded to her suggestion, and she had the decency to feel slightly ashamed, her ears flicking back apologetically. She was supposed to help Buckbranch train Sagepaw, not take over the young cat's entire training. She was simply an assistant, after all, not Sagepaw's actual mentor. But she had just gotten so excited describing parts of the territory, something she had not been able to do with her own apprentice before he disappeared.
Guilt swam in her stomach as the deputy pushed past the both of them, a sullen look on his face. She glanced around for a moment, trying to think of something to say. She wasn't all "nicey nicey" with him, so saying something assuring might not work, but she also felt bad. Her strong empathy had won the battle this time, and she didn't want Buckbranch to feel.. well.. terrible. That wasn't how she wanted any cat to feel, no matter how... annoying they seemed to be. So, once and idea popped in her head, Foxbound's face broke into a large, mischievous smirk as she leaned down towards Sagepaw. "Watch this." She whispered, before running towards Buckbranch, leaping up right next to him, the force from her paws causing the snow to explode and shower them both. With a teasing smirk, she stopped in front of Buckbranch, shaking the snow from his pelt and giving him a teasing smirk. "I think we're all feeling a little cold.... Buckbranch especially, how about we do a little race towards the training cave to warm everyone up?" She meowed towards Sagepaw, feathery orange tail flicking with a challenge towards the two toms, her orange eyes shining.

Re: ThunderClan Territory
@ GrassRipple
It've been two days ago since Sore left the barn, leaving Dusk and Streeker behind. He was ready to meet the clans, and see how to become a warrior, and after... he will control them! He hunted down a mouse, though it was skinny and small due to leaf-bare. He ate the fresh-kill and went to sleep. He was found in another StarClan dream, this time he is in a snowy biome.

The small tabby blinked at her question, surprise filling his gaze. He thought bout it for a moment before responding. "Honestly, no. Even if I did, I don't want to be one. Too much stress. I'd rather be a follower than a leader," Songthorn said, "but, if I had to be, I'd be sure to be more smart than to let traitors have such power." He snorted and rolled his eyes, then straightened his back, trying to add height to his small form. He examined Moonpaw for a moment before deciding what they would do, nodding to himself. "Being small isn't a bad thing- you can use it to your advantage, especially for defense.
"What you need to worry about is speed."
