RiverClan Leader's Den

"Oh, that would be great," The warrior spoke as he turned to pad after Lionstar. "I definitely feel a little rusty, after all." A good spar would be just the thing to get his spirits back up, too. He'd just have to make it through this meeting, and face his clan with his inability to lead them.

[Dirtfur]

Dirtfur stared at the entrance of Lionstar's den. Pride and eagerness swell the deputy's chest. It's his first stepping into the leader's den... as a deputy!
Lionstar said to the dusty-cat that he and the golden tom will go over the role as deputy after the meeting. The meeting was over, and the earthy-tomcat came over to the den.
The brown tabby breathed in the scent of fish and reeds and Lionstar's scent. With enough courage, Dirtfur padded in. He studied the room before him: dusty a little, what a nice décor; the ground was nippy. "Lionstar, I'm here," Dirtfur called to the golden leader, feeling butterflies in his stomach, but he reminded himself that it will be fine... hopefully.

[BEAR.]

Entering the den after Dirtfur, Lionstar waved his tail to encourage Dirtfur to take a seat. "Sit, sit! We have much to discuss.."

Lionstar himself took a seat with his tail neatly curled around his paws, a broad grin across his muzzle. "Alright, deputy duties! I know you're already a fine warrior and I shouldn't have to worry about this as much as I did with the two boneheads I had before you.." this was said half-affectionately, as he did still think fondly of Eagleflight, "but we need to focus on patrols. I know it's not the most exciting thing in the world, honestly it's quite a drag-- but I don't want our scents to go stale. Lionsgrove will remain unmarked. I want our side of the river refreshed only -- there's a reason for this! One I will be saving until the upcoming gathering. The other borders need to be marked as normal, though perhaps ThunderClan could use a heavier coating since they've decided to be Icepuff's underlings."

Lionstar took on a thoughtful expression at that. "Lionsrange is something else we need to use more.. we have a huge Clan we need to feed and the river is partially frozen. I think there's much that area could offer if we had patrols be more timely with it. It shouldn't take cats moons to go there and back. Perhaps," he mused, "we should look into merging a border patrol and a hunting patrol when it comes to that area? They'll refresh the markers just before they leave from hunting to ensure they're as fresh as possible?" He shrugged. If Dirtfur decided to do that, all the power to him.

"There is something I'll need to advise you of for patrols.. we have some lazy-ass Clan-mates. I swear, we need to micro-manage these slothful pieces of fur. Make sure these patrols you send out finish-- make it clear you don't care who reports to you in the end, as long as it gets done. And, I would like for you to report any slackers to me. Anyone who doesn't participate in patrols, any patrol leaders who fail to report to you themselves. Anyone who isn't supporting their weight in this Clan. I want to start punishing cats who fail in their basic duty.. and I need your help to do so."

Communication between them would be crucial, and Lionstar had every intent on humiliating the cats who decided to play kittypet within the Clan.

The brown tabby listened intently to Lionstar's tips and advices. He shut his mouth tight until his leader is done explaining the dusty cat's duties. He nodded, showing how much he is paying attention. Put a patrol in Lionsrange... got it!
Lazy-asses, Dirtfur thought harshly, glaring at something as if it was mocking the deputy. Report. Slackers. To you, okay!
"I can be every help to you I anyway, Lionstar," the old deputy bowed his head. "I will do my best as the deputy of RiverClan."

[BEAR.]

"I know you will."

Lionstar beamed at him before he rose to his paws. "I'm going to be sparring with Eagleflight in preparation for the battle training he'll be responsible for. While I'm gone, you should look into sending out your first batch of patrols-- I have a handful of cats already leaving for the search and rescue patrols, but everyone else is fair game."

Dirtfur picked up the vole and mouse and backed up into Lionsden, ready to talk about the sick kit. "Hey Lions'ar," he mumbled through the fresh-kill, putting them down and pushing a plump vole towards the golden leader.

[BEAR.]

Hmm? Who could it be, interrupting his midday pacing?

Oh, it was the dirty one. That was fine.

"Dirtfur," he greeted him. "What's going on?" It felt strange to have a deputy that actually.. came to his den..? Was this going to be another resignation, or perhaps Dirtfur was throwing a Frostfall and wanted to throw a fit over Lionstar's choices?

He supposed all he could do was wait, getting to his paws with the vole forgotten by him.

"Wait one second Sunkit!" Sparrowkit said as he ran into Lionstar's den. Interrupting Him and Dirtfur. "Daddy! Lionstar! Sunkit is stuckinthe snow and I can't gethim out!" Sparrowkit said, fast.

[Dirtfur]

The deputy opened his maw, ready to report about the sick, but he was interrupted by his own kit! Rolling his eyes, Dirtfur twisted his amber eyes back to Lionstar. "I'm sorry Lionstar, I didn't expect any interruptions, I have to see Sunkit, you can come if you want," the old tabby invited Lionstar. Without giving the leader a chance to accept or deny, he stepped up to Sparrowkit [ @:Grimm: ]. He bowed his head and hissed into the kit's ear, "Do you not see that your dad is busy?" sighing he shook his head and went outside. "Come on, I don't want Sunkit turn into a caticle."

Sparrowkit put his head down as Dirtfur scolded him. "S-sorry. I didn't mean to mess up your meeting." He said shamefully. He followed Dirtfur without the same bounciness he had before.
