Re: RiverClan Clearing
featherkit gritted her teeth, she couldn't help but let out her anger at this point. featherkit leapt away from her mother and turned around, her back arched and her teeth bared, "I don't think roanmask even tries to visit have you ever thought maybe he didn't want kits, maybe he didn't want you!?" she shouted as tears began to stream down her cheeks, "I am two and a half moons old and he has only seen me once, one time!" featherkits eyes blazed with hatred as she spoke of her fathers absence, "I don't think roanmask likes me or you!" she spat as her claws dug into the ground. featherkit hissed at her mother before storming off to a corner in the clearing and started putting lines in the ground again.

"Those don't count, you always fell asleep. " Wormbite huffed, shaking his head in shame.
He would walk with Shimmeringpool to the camp entrance, taking the left side of the doorway to guard. He rolled his shoulders, getting comfortable in the position he would be sitting in for hours.

Re: RiverClan Clearing
Fawnsqueak staggered into camp, a limp in his step and exhaustion in his bones. Otterstone and Omenshade had been flooded with patients, another with minor injuries wasn't what they needed when his clanmates were significantly worse off. A cough tore through his lungs, but he blinked to keep everything in focus while ignoring the stinging pain of the coyote's chomp. Squinting, he was pretty certain that was...
Sootflare! It had to be. His gray-white form was unmistakably guarding the camp.
Fawnsqueak hobbled forward with a wince, still panting from the exertion of a dash to WindClan territory and back. All he could manage out was a breathy puff of, "I... uh, cobwebs?" And he craned his neck to peer back at his leg for the first time, pupils shrinking at the gruesome sight of the injury and the trickle of blood pooling atop his paw.

Re: RiverClan Clearing
Sootflare
__________
Fear scent and the smell of blood assaulted his senses all at once and the sudden appearance of Fawnsqueak was both starling and disarming. The immediate reaction would be to rush the tom to the medicine cat’s den - to Otterstone and Omenshade - where someone even minority qualified could take care of this. But they weren’t there. Otterstone and Omenshade weren’t there. Right. Gotta remain calm. Panicking doesn’t do any good. Right. Right. Cobwebs. Gotta get cobwebs.
“Hey- Hey, just- Lay down for me? I don’t need you collapsing. I’ll be back.” He meowed before darting off towards the medicine cat den. Apologies for the raid of resources could be issue later - this was a bit more urgent than asking permission. Not like he could, really. When he re-emerged, he carried a bundle of wet moss and some cobwebs. For fear of giving Fawnsqueak the wrong thing and incurring the wrath of Lionstar, he didn’t take any of the actual herbs.
Quickly, Sootflare dropped the bundle of moss where Fawn could reach it if he wanted and went to work trying to staunch the flow of blood, putting a pressure and cobwebs on the wound. All the while he was chewing the inside of his cheek and trying to keep a mask of calm. Wounds like this- they always looked worse than they actually were, right?
“The adrenaline probably got you home but if you feel like you’re going to pass out, try and let me know, ok?” No need to go through the panic of suddenly having a nonresponsive feline if it could be avoided, “Do you think anything followed you back?”

Re: RiverClan Clearing
Sootflare's reception brought a blooming of warmth in his chest, a mysterious comfort that defied logic. Questioning it was a task for later; for now, he was simply grateful beyond belief that it was indeed Sootflare, and his help was... more than Fawnsqueak could ask for. Cooperative, he slid his paws outward, coming to rest on his stomach at the edge of camp. His leg remained lifted at an awkward angle in fear of the ground's muck mingling with the open injury.
The blood felt too hot and sticky, and despite his eagerness to lap it away, Fawnsqueak was concerned it'd only dislodge the forming barrier. He was already woozy--either from the run or the wound, he couldn't discern--and worsening his condition was a fool's course of action. Not that getting bitten by a coyote was much smarter.
Fawnsqueak lifted his head as Sootflare returned, his eyes bright with appreciation in a sea of battle fatigue. "Moss?" he questioned, then shot Sootflare a tired beam. "You're..." Really great. Unbelievable. "Honestly wonderful." It hadn't occurred to Fawnsqueak himself that he was dying for a drink before he took the first lap at the moss, then didn't stop, the taste refreshing. He only stopped to suck in a sharp breath when Sootflare applied the cobwebs.
Through gritted teeth, he managed, "It's just.. a bite, I think. I'm pretty sure." The fight had been too quick, and all he could think about was his leg firmly clamped in the thing's jaws, tearing at him. "No, I... ah--" he paused to squeeze his eyes shut, forcing a deep exhale, "it's fine. Just.. painful. I didn't know cobwebs were going to hurt." His words sounded tight, on the edge of a whine. It wasn't quite the cobwebs but the pressure Sootflare applied to ensure the bleeding slowed.
"Followed me...?" he echoed before it clicked. "Oh! Like, coyotes? I don't think so, they were uh-- well, we almost had them run out but then more came in. Maybe.. attracted to the blood, or something? But I think our clanmates are still doing okay out there." Stars, he truly hoped he hadn't led anything to camp. "I guess prepare for more wounded, mine isn't too bad in comparison. Not to.. some of them, anyway."

Re: RiverClan Clearing
His heart fluttered high, he could feel the fast thump thump thump of his heart in his throat as his cheeks got hotter and hotter under the white fur of his cheeks. "She's so pretty," He whispered, was it to Flowerpaw or to himself? Either way simply saying it out loud was enough to make him pure giddy. "I wouldn't say... love, I don't do love... Loves too messy for this smooth-cat," Koistrean gave his chest a few quick licks as his neck-fur began to fluff up, half in a defensive way and half for his distraction. He rolled his odd coloured eyes at her, a soft grumble from his throat. "I'm trying to be nice! It doesn't do any good if I'm going to sit here and call some apprentice a brat... You might be a kid but you're apart of the clan." He tried to be humble but man was he good at these weird speeches!

Re: RiverClan Clearing
Longest walk ever! Despite how everything ached, how raw her paw pads were, and her bruised ribs throbbed, Twilightstar felt infinitely better as she limped into RiverClan. She got her tears out, forgot to take poppy seeds with her, but was pretty sure she'd get her territory back so the rest was history compared to that. The she-cat near the entrance while her nose adjusted to the weird scents. "Lionstar!" The feline let out a powerful call that ended in a rough cough that came with spasms of pain.
Her breaths came out in rough pants and mouth remained slightly ajar as she breathed. The thin ragged molly took a seat and began washing the inflamed pads of one paw and then the other. She wasn't expecting to be here long, in an out. She was worried about Icestar suddenly changing her mind about them staying in their funny twoleg den and poaching what remained of her little clan while she was out. Icestar was as slippery as a snake and bit just as bad, Twilightstar trusted her to keep her word about as far as she could yeet Icestar, the leader snorted to herself at the funny picture in her head. Twilightstar was a twig she'd certainly get crushed underneath all of Icestar's extra fluff. After chuckling at herself probably due to sleep deprivation, Twilightstar went back to lapping at her paw while waiting for the RiverClan leader. She was dead on her paws and honestly wasn't paying much mind to the happening going on around her.

Re: RiverClan Clearing
Following his Clan announcement, Lionstar had taken to trying to clean up the laceration along his side. Stupid dogs! He was glad they were able to take one out. A shame they couldn't kill more.
Twilightstar's yowl made his ear twitch, and he stopped his self-treatment to approach her with curious eyes. "Twilightstar." She wasn't easy on the eyes, but he was at least pleased to see one WindClan cat had survived the attack. Were there more? He assumed if Twilightstar was here, either all hope was lost for WindClan or they had a chance.
Either way, he was all ears to what she had to say. But.. "... Would you like something to eat? You look like hell."

Re: RiverClan Clearing
Sootflare
__________
Seeing Fawn hurt- hurting Fawn, even if he was helping in the end, was difficult and every wince and strained word made Sootflare want to pull away but he kept pressure on the wound until he felt like he had staunched the flow of blood. The dark red didn't stand out against Fawnsqueak's brown pelt as much as it stained Sootflare's fur red. First priority, once things had settled, would be to wash out the sticky mess.
"I'm sorry," he replied, shooting over an apologetic glance, "I promise I'm not trying to hurt you any more than I have to. You're doing great."
A cursory glanced confirmed he hadn't sustained any other major injuries, at least that he could tell from where the tom lay. A heavy sigh escaped his maw. Unfortunately, that was the extent of his abilities. He knew nothing of poultices to ward of infection or speed up the healing process. Otterstone or Omenshade could hopefully do more when they returned.
"Do I need to run off and make sure they didn't lose the upper paw without you or do you think my services would do better here?" Raising a teasing brow, he settled down nearby where he could keep an eye on Fawnsqueak and the camp entrance.

Re: RiverClan Clearing
Flyfur's head hung as Featherkit stormed off, guilt boiling in her belly. No, he hadn't wanted kits. Neither of them did, but she was trying for her. She didn't deserve the anguish this was causing her.
She slowly padded towards where Featherkit was letting out her frustrations and sat a tail length away from her, not wanting to intrude if she wanted space. "I'm sorry. I thought he would would try to be there for you. Obviously, I was wrong." She tried to cover her half concealed sob with a cough. She gave herself a moment before returning to what she was saying. "I'm so sorry. I.... would you rather I..... would you rather be alone for now? Or may I sit with you?"
She didn't want to force her presence upon Featherkit. How long had she been thinking about this? How long had this sat to fester in her heart? The idea made her heart ache even more.
