"You're as crazy as a Windclan cat but I must admit it makes... sense for you to keep an eye on these small things, to make sure life is returning," She murmured, baffled by the way Crocusblaze moved and spoke. She watched with wide eyes, captivated by him.

Her ears twitched with curiosity. What could they possibly bring them they dont already have? "What do you mean? What are we bringing them? You know Icestar wouldnt exactly approve of us mingling with them or such," She murmured but stood, giving a quick nod. "But I'll come to make sure your ditzy head doesnt get stuck in a hole or something."

"Well there's a real simple solution to that my dear!" Crocusblaze almost sang as he started padding off in another direction, meaning to address Blackadder's fretting about Icestar. His eyes darkened some mischievously, the tom-cat was never too good at following rules. Didn't even like that word. "We simply," he paused for a second, perhaps for dramatic effect, "do not tell Icestar!"

His paws sped up as he eyed exactly what he had intended for them to do. A bee hive nestled on the branch of a conifers, hanging by little more than a thread. Stupid insects. The bugs buzzed around it intently, working as they always did. Back and forth to flowers, lifting up their fat little bodies with the little clear wings that Crocusblaze had always marveled at on bugs. "I want to bring the WindClanners something to eat. A treat if you will," he explained.

"We'll need the both of us to do it but climb up the tree with me on the other side. We both stand on the branch it's attached to until it breaks and then...run like all hell until they've left the hive abandoned! And whatever's left we can donate to the Medicine Den. Sound good?" He laid out the plan in a bright tone like it didn't have the possibility to result in being assaulted by a swarm of bees.

"Lovely to meet you, Foxpudge." An unusual name, for sure. "You already know my name of course, and you've met my deputy, Beastspark. We'll do our best to be accommodating as you adjust to ShadowClan life." Icestar glanced back to Butterflypaw, who had been silent this whole time.

"You must be an apprentice, yes?" The leader asked the young she-cat. "We'll have a mentor for you very soon, once you're healed up." By now the group was reaching the entrance of camp. Icestar allowed the others to enter first before she did.

"alright folks , I really don't like late patrols. I don't want this one to be the first one. " she meowed to the two. Raising her head " we will split that way we cover more ground it's new leaf so we have a better chance at food. Off you find anything that needs to be reported hollar ok?"

Rosedapple lead her patrol to a spot that was usually a good place to track down lizards and other small prey. With the arrival of New-Leaf she wanted to at least check if and amphibious prey the clan typically hunted was starting to emerge. Glancing over to Tawnyflame she inclined her head.

"Hope you don't mind if I spend some of this patrol helping Scorchpaw with his own training. We haven't gone over hunting yet. If you feel the need to put distance between us just make sure to check back periodically or call if you need us." she informed, then looked to her apprentice.

"How goes your stealth? You feeling confident in it today?" she asked him.

Seeing as she was the only one, she was starting to think that Plover and myrtle weren't even actually here. As in..not even a shadowclan cat. Wait ...did Beastspark set me up!?! Probably teamed up with some of those stupid toms and tricked me! ears folding back she gave a hiss. The clan does still need food... with that she whirled back around and went to hunt.Two hours have passed and in that time she managed to catch two mice which she set near a shrub. She went back to hunt once more in hopes that new leaf and starclan will give her extra luck.
That just plummeted as she returned with nothing, she was still thankful though . Awful early ......maybe once more wouldn't hurt.. with that she went back yet again to hunt.

Nightpaw stayed rather silent as they were walking, repeating in her mind again and again the question she wanted to ask her mentor. Once arrived Nightpaw looked around, taking in the sight of the forest. She remembered seeing it one time before- but that was already a few moons ago. The young apprentice nearly started to get lost in her own thoughts when her mentor's voice brought her back to reality
"al-alright" she gave a nod, trying to seem as determined as she could, and turned to face the forest.
There were so many interesting things around her to look at- things her eyes absolutely wanted to see- making it hard to consentrate on tunning her ears to the forest. She decided to close her eyes, trying to concentrate on the forest sounds the best she could; the young apprentice heared the wind blowing threw the trees, some of them making a cracking sound, and some faint other sounds here and there.

Pausing in her tracks Stormlily turned to her apprentice who just popped a huge question. The warrior was quite surprised that Nightpaw wanted to help out. "Of course! I love the fact that you want to help others! I'm totally all in for it, I'm fine with you going long as you don't mind me tagging along. I am your mentor after all and want to be there for you all of the time." A huge smile blossomed onto the warrior's face as she was very excited for her apprentice. She wanted to bounce around like a kit and show her enthusiasm but now being a mentor she couldn't act like an apprentice because she had to set a good example for Nightpaw.
"It's pretty beautiful, isn't it?"Noting the dark molly's reaction to the territory. "Don't worry, I'll show you the whole place." Bumping shoulders with the apprentice with the grin still on her face. After a few heartbeats, she fell silent to allow Nightpaw to listen. Far off a frog croaked, birds singing, the breeze blowing the leaves to dance in the air. Letting a few more moments pass before she spoke Stormlily cleared her voice. "Okay, tell me what you hear."

A wide smile drew on Nightpaw's maw at her mentor's answer "ofcourse, th-thank you!" she nodded and continued to walk with her. The white molly only got happier as Stormlily old her that she'd show her the whole place, giving a grateful nod, before turning to tuning her ears to the forest.

After a few moments Nightpaw opened her eyes again and turned to look at her mentor "i can he-hear the wind bl-blow the leafs...an-and birds. B-birds singing! And u-um..." she paused again for a few moments before continuing "f-frogs..? Y-yes..a frog, I th-think" she added, shuffling her paws a little.

Dogpaw bit back a growl, her noise was held up high in the air. You couldn't growl at someone if you weren't facing them. "And I don't take orders form you!" Her torti tail gave a flicker of anger but she was working on controlling herself, slowly. "Besides it would be pretty hard to show you what to do if I didn't give you orders! Stop being defensive," Dogpaw scoffed, hiding her need to sneer.

Blackadder had disregarded what Crocusblaze said regarding Icestar or more so disregarding their leader. Icestar was a Star, she hadn't required that name for no reason, they couldn't act like she simply didn't exist. Her whiskers quivered with anxiety but she followed behind anyway.

"Bees?!"

They buzzed and hummed, wings vibrating in the air. Blackadders nerves kept growing with each one that zoomed past. She pressed a little closer to the large cat, flanked briefly brushing againist the others. "I don't... trust your judgement,' Her lips pulled back into a sneer, her eyes watching the bee give with suspicion.

It was no fault of their own, but words did not seem to fit into their mouth the same way they did for other cats- not that they were aware of exactly what had happened to them but Crocusblaze had been shipped from a breeder in Japan, and had lived their early life comfortably as a kittypet. They had to say they were much happier in ShadowClan, though they weren't entirely a fan of so many binding rules. Regardless, they'd do their best to make sure Elfinpaw ended up trained up right and they wouldn't let their personal opinions cloud any training sessions if they could help themselves.

The long-furred grey and white tabby cat loomed over the apprentice, however unintentional it may be. They were a large cat, half Maine Coon half Japanese Bobtail- though they hadn't inherited the short tailed trait from their mother- they had to be over twenty pounds. Physically it was all well trained ShadowClan warrior muscle, but the warmth and compassion they gave off sure fit a cat of such stature.

"Now!" They said loudly to make sure the little she-cat was paying attention in case she had begun to drift off mentally because of her 'flitterbugs'. "I did bring you out this way for a reason. I know you've smelled prey from the freshkill pile. The first step in learning to hunt is identifying your target in your surroundings. Now I know you can't see," that part was blazingly obvious when looking at the cat. "Listen to what's going on around you, listen for the little scuttling of paws under roots or in fallen leaves, and most importantly where it's coming from. Scents can be tricky dearie- on the wind it can lead you to prey, but when the sky is still it can linger. Smell from a squirrel on a branch can make it's way to the ground, but by the time you're looking around the little bugger is long gone," they explained.

"So, with that...Elfinpaw, tell me what you can find, and how you know it's there."

Little one? Oh, they meant her! She was the little one. Having never bothered to measure herself, Elfinpaw felt she was of average size when in truth she was quite petite for someone her age. As far as she was concern all cats, expect kits, were around her father's size though she had no clue that her adoptive dad was of the larger breeds of cats. Anyway, that meant everyone was a giant and she was the normal one. It clicked perfectly in her head, she was probably overthinking this again. She should just accept the cute nickname as a term of endearment and move on.
"You talk funny? Do you really?" It was clearly a rhetorical question considering she continued to chatter without pausing to listen for an answer. "I've been told I talk a lot, not oddly though... I have been told that some of the stuff I say is weird." Elfinpaw tired her best to relate to Crocusblaze. It was nice to have stuff in common, strengthen bonds of friendship! "I'll remember to tell you if I need something repeated." She adds quickly in case they think she was deliberately not paying attention to them. She did drift off for a moment, from the paw steps and the vibrations she could feel through her pads when she walked behind them, Elfinpaw was petty sure her mentor was very big. Were they as big as Whiteshadow? What did their face look like? She should ask if she could touch their fac-
"Gleblu!" Her ears shot up in alarm at the exclamation from the warrior. Naturally, she just called a jumbled word that meant absolutely nothing to make it seem like she was at least paying attention. What was she doing again... oh yesyesyes! Training. She got focused somewhat and did her hardest to tune into what her mentor was telling her. She drifted once or twice but got the gist of it she believed. Elfinpaw parted her maw and breathed in tasting the scents around her. If she took to strong a whiff through her nose she'd sneeze and that just wouldn't do. "I got mice," She purred after shutting her maw. "I can smell them... think I can hear them too? Maybe..." Elfinpaw's ears swivel and twitch as she tried to make sure the sounds she was hearing wasn't the wind or something.
