Darkpaw ducked and darted forward, attempting to bat at Silvershade's lower leg; she miscalculated and missed, however, so she quickly dove out of range in case her mentor tried to get her with her guard down.

Silvershade was surprised at Darkpaw's attack-- they hadn't suspected the apprentice would actually make a move. The warrior whirled away, though Darkpaw had came close. A happy smile was on their face now. Silvershade would take a moment before darting forward, aiming to bat the upper part of Darkpaw' neck.

Firehawk chuckled at the sight of Pebblepaw splayed on his back, and he lightly jabbed at Pebblepaw's pudge. "That's why we train! One day you'll be the fiercest rock of RiverClan, but for now you'll just be our toughest pebble." Affectionately, he bopped at Pebblepaw's nose. "Do you want to try again?"

Darkpaw ducked again and jumped backwards, narrowly missing Silvershade's paw; she made a split-second decision to dart at her mentor's side and aimed at the cat's upper shoulder.

Silvershade blinked when they felt a paw brush against their side. A purr came from their chest, "Good job. You got me, " They praised but took this chance to lash at Darkpaw's left leg.

Darkpaw felt a swell of pride at the compliment; only for it to quickly disappear as she felt a paw graze her leg, too little too late for her to dodge.

Ears burning, she stepped backwards, shaking her pelt as though to shake her embarrassment off. "U-uh, thanks," she muttered.

"I thinnkkk that's good for now! Really, you can practice with your friends and such. Now, now. Let's say you need to flee in battle. What do you think you should do? Hm?" They questioned, raising an brow.

A bit surprised with the question, the apprentice blinked. "Um, well... I'd try to get out of the situation I'm stuck in, first; maybe distract my opponent so I'm able to get away. If I can't do that, I'd call for help."

As Pebblepaw opened his mouth to reply, he was taken aback by the sudden VERY LOUD rumble of his stomach. "Oop," Ears pinned back, he cast an embarrassed glance to his paws,

"Could we take a break? I haven't had anything to eat today and the ol' tum tum is starting to get upset by that." Hopefully Firehawk would understand! Pebble was a growing boy! Still, he started to linger around the edge of the training island, waiting for Firehawk's decision before he would run off back to camp.
