Snailriver nodded at Lionstar's command, and gestured to his new apprentice. "Come along Ivypaw. We're going fishing." With that he headed out into the territory, his focus on reaching the river and how he would best be able to show Ivypaw. He had quite a fair bit of experience underneath his belt but teaching was new to him. However, he wanted to handle this. As they reached the river he sat down and pointed with his tail towards the river, trying to remember the complete basics that they taught apprentices. "An important thing to learn here, is how to avoid detection by the fish. The fish can sense when there is no longer light overhead, and thereby you have to learn to sit and lean back so that your shadow is no longer leaning over the river but instead on the ground." He demonstrated this by moving forward to sit next to river, and leaned back with his paws still in reach to reach down but his shadow covered the ground instead of the river.

Ivypaw followed him, still shaking. He kept whipping his head around, and sat down. "C...Cool..." It was clear Ivypaw wasn't paying that much attention.

Snailriver looked back at the apprentice who looked anything but interested and paying attention. He went over and stood and looked down at them. "Are you paying any attention Ivypaw? I'm your mentor now. I'm not going to go easy on you and if you want to not pay attention, then I'll make you pay attention. Do you want to become a warrior? Then you better listen and pay attention to what i'm showing and telling you. It is vital. If you can't fish how will you fit into Riverclan? Fishing is essential and you gotta know it." He was mad, frustrated and didn't understand why the apprentice wasn't working with him. "Go to the river bank. And do exactly what I just showed you before."

"O-okay..." He got up shakily and made his way to the river's edge. He sort of sat there, leaning back a bit. "I can't see into the water... Oh... A thing..." He stuck his paw in the water and it brushed something scaly. "Eep! I touched one! Look!" He was still shaking, but not as much.

"why??? " he asked then raised his brow . But as he saw the multiple tunnels , his confusion was put to rest. "cool!!" he meowed only for it to echo. " Echol!!" echo! echo! echo..... gazing at the right tunnel " I'll take this one! Maybe it'll be more fun. I wonder if we can find any kind of prey in here " he then started to head off.

"Wait! I said to-" It was too late. The flimsy layer of rock fell over the entrance of the tunnel, leaving him trapped inside.
"Are you alright?!" She growled nervously as she looked at the rocks piled over the entrance. Her immediate reaction was to pace, but she stopped herself a few steps in to keep the situation from getting worse.

Hearing the roof fall, sootpaw turned back around only yowl as he was hit by a stray rock that fell down and bounced off of the fallen bits. After having being flown onto his side he struggled to get back up and once he did, everything was...fuzzy and a ringing sound could be heard in his ears. Shaking his head he managed to hear his mentor "i....im..I'm fine. Just a stupid rock decided to hit me in its way down...get help! I don't know where to go from here!" he meowed with slight fear. With that he ran to the fallen debris and scratched at it non stop.

"I-i'll get help!" She ran to the entrance when he gave a response, ready to help as best she could.

"no dur!" he hollard back. A bit irritated at that...it was common sense to him . Giving a sigh he plopped down and curled up. Though it won't take him long for the darkness to play tricks on him...He began to hear a few whispers..."hurry back please!" he added

The pale pointed cat watched coolly as their mentor caught and killed the chipmunk. Though they kept their paws still and their whiskers from quivering they couldn't help but be excited. Mimicking their mentor to the best of their ability, they crouched down and slithered forward on careful paws, Lampreypaw pounced on a flower sprouting out of the damp ground. It was just a practice run, but for a first try they had done well.

"What about fish?" They asked softly. They wriggled their hindquarters and tail stump in excitement.

Padded back over to Lampreypaw she chuckled as they pounced onto the flower. "Good job." She padded over to a bush and clawed a little hole to place her catch in. "We can't fish in the river yet because of snowmelt but, later on when it is quieter we can start fishing." After burring her chipmunk she looked at her apprentice. Boy they were adorable. "We can look at the river though." She flicked her ears at them, grinning in the process.

She was at the entrance of Lionstunnels, Goosepaw behind her. She carefully crept into the tunnel, looking back at Goosepaw and giving him a quick nod.
"I'm back, and I brought Goosepaw with me! We're going to get you out!" She was nervous, but still made sure to stay quiet so rocks wouldn't fall over any more entrances. @Slushie

As soon as he approached the collapsed tunnel, confusion completely overwhelmed him. How was he even supposed to dig for Sootpaw? He'd never bothered to learn, because he'd figured he'd never have to learn. But now here he was, volunteering to dig a cat out of a collapsed tunnel. Was he crazy? More than likely, he'd do more harm than good!
He stared blankly at the collapsed entrance for a few moments, then shook his head and set his jaw. No, he would NOT chicken out on this one. "Sootpaw, it's Goosepaw," he called, though he had no idea if the other apprentice could hear him or not. "Stay where you are, okay? We're going to get you out." He just hoped he sounded more confident than he felt.
Goosepaw sat back to survey the pile of dirt and rocks. Maybe if they started at the softest, less compact spots, and moved on to the places that were harder to dig afterward, it would make it a little easier. Wait, no, he was being an idiot - if they didn't want Sootpaw getting hit in the head, they'd have to move the stones first. "O-okay, uh, start with the rocks and stones and things," he stammered, placing a paw on top of a small stone and rolling it to the side. "Keep them away from the entrance, and then we can start actually digging. I-I think."
