Cormorantpaw laughed gleefully despite his exhaustion and retorted, “it’s coming up, old man!” He hoped his tease didn’t go too far, but the young tom’s tone had been light and playful when he used the name ‘old man’ and he clearly hadn’t meant offense. He didn’t usually go around insulting his elders, though, so he still had a bit of nervousness that Buckbranch would take it the wrong way. Rolling up to his paws too, albeit stiffly and slower, Cormorantpaw butted his head against Buckbranch’s shoulder affectionally and agreed, “yeah, let’s get back. I wanna nap until next moon!” He grinned how at his mentor, letting simple happiness spread warmly through his aching muscles and choosing not to question or dwell on it.

Jaggedhawk sat on the branch he was on, face twisted into a frown as he listened to what Howlspark said. Expression softening, the tom gave a shrug once the other warrior had finished speaking. "I suppose I really don't know. It's like... I want to go and get out of here, there's nothing holding me back from doing so, yet I still feel a hesitation." Jaggedhawk tilted slightly on the branch, dangling precariously close to falling off. Then he stood in one swell swoop, balancing lightly on the branch once more as he padded along it's length. "I love seeing new things and learning about everything, and I suppose clan life is just too... restricting for that. But clan life is also all I've known, so I'm not sure if I could do it. Go out and travel and live on my own that is." The silver tabby turned his face towards Howlspark once more, a little more confident as he continued speaking. "But... I think I could do it if I just tried. Just leapt into it, y'know?"

Howlspark padded along a branch as he listened, nodding occasionally along with Jaggedhawk’s words. Every time he reached the edge of a branch, he hooked his claws into the next and climbed higher, though he also shifted onto nearby branches at the same level to avoid getting out of hearing distance. The topic was deep and Howlspark wasn’t perfectly primed to answer. He didn’t have the right to really make judgements on or suggest things for this cat’s life. He could only suggest realizations. Thus, he had to think about his words to make sure he didn’t come off as pretentious or fake-wise. Howlspark by no means thought he was wise. He just had life experience and a habit for silence that made him come off that way despite being young.
“I don’t really know... I do know that the adventures out there can be pretty cool or can be a bit of a letdown- like everything, I suppose. You’ll never know if you don’t try it though. Hesitation keeps us in the known, which can be great. We are all looking for comfort and happiness, right? But I get the sense that your happiness in life doesn’t come from comfort. But yeah, I get it. Maybe if you just leapt into it... it would work out? I really don’t know.”

Frostpaw whipped around to face her mentor, flustered. "No, No, I'm fine!" She'd just never climbed a tree, that was all. Murkyshadow had taken her out hunting, and so had Spottyfly, but they had never covered something like this. Frostpaw took another step onto the tree, before quickly sizing herself up. The bark was soft, which would make for some easy climbing. Except... She was small. Very small. And, if Frostpaw was guessing correctly, this tree was the complete opposite. Tall. Threatening. Useful. Turning back to her mentor, the molly let out a small noise in the back of her throat. "uhm... I think I need a boost.."

Seedcrush padded to the Rogueland wood, "Here young Dustpaw is the Rogueland woods. Plenty of prey and plenty of rogues. It's safer to travel with 2 or more cats when coming here, you don't wanna be ambushed."

She put her nose up and sniffed the air looking around her pelt tingled with excitement “do you think We will see any rouges” she asked Seedcrush

Eyes wide, the new apprentice scrambled into a hasty position, Eveningpaw couldn't believe she was already learning how to hunt! Her eyebrows furrowed deeply and her tongue stuck out in concentration, careful to match the position accurately. She felt awkward being so low to the ground and her long fur scraped against the harsh, rocky earth. Her knees swayed trying to get comfortable. The she-cat took note of everything her mentor was doing, however, she hadn't been as observant towards what the cat WASN'T doing. Like their tail was certainly not swishing in anticipation. Something the apprentice clearly had trouble controlling. After a few quiet, awkward moments Eveningpaw sat back up awaiting for instruction and critique quietly. Maybe it looked better than it had felt?

Softbriar watched Eveningpaw's movements patiently, holding back a little chuckle when they saw her swishing tail. When the apprentice had finished her first try at a hunters crouch, they made their way back to her side. "That was a great first try!" They smiled gently. "Though be sure to keep your tail still, it should be more comfortable if you relax your body into the crouch, it should be very natural movements." They showed themself once more just lowering themself, having noticed how awkward the apprentice's movements had been.
"We'll work on perfecting this on our next trip out, I'll show you the rest of the territory and then we'll head back until tomorrow. I showed you how to stalk in case you wanna practice back in the camp until then, so you could make your first catch as soon as you can." They nodded before continuing on to quickly explain some of the main parts of ThunderClan territory.

Eveningpaw bent her knees quickly to get the feel of easing into the crouch slowly, she would be sure to practice when she had the chance. Maybe tomorrow she really would catch something! Her mind wandered imagining bounding into camp with a plump mouse displayed in her jaws, but her thought were quickly interrupted when she realized Softbriar was still speaking. She itched to get her paws moving, she wanted to see anything and everything. "Will I get to fight some Shadowclan cats off our territory?" She flexed her claws, remembering the ambush. What if the opposing clan returned? she would be sure to defend their borders magnificently alongside Softbriar, even if she didn't have any fighting skills yet.

Seedcrush grunted and looked at Dustpaw. "They shouldn't be here since this is our territory. If we do, we have to tell them to stay out." Seedcrush meowed in his grumpy voice, "There is still more to see, follow me."
