Songkit felt sadness spike around him and wished for it to stop. He tried to wobble with his eyes closed to the source of sadness (Gentlemoo) and stay onto Gentlemoo hoping the sadness would ease a little. He tried to find a source of food but when he tried to find it, all he found was cold air from the entrance of the nursery. Sighing as he gave up, he slept on the paws of his dad.

Gentlemoo watched as Songkit wobbled over to him and curled up on his paw. He gently wrapped his tail around Songkit to keep him warm. He was surprised by his natural instincts with the kits, he had always been so clunky and awkward around apprentices and assumed he’d be the same with kits. Speaking of which, he’d need to talk to his co-mentor. He’d be quite busy for a while with the kits and would need a moon or two off training Sunpaw, but he didn’t want to step down as his mentor either.

Twistedpaw blinked at Fallenghost. Although the she-cat did creep her out a little bit, it's not like it would really affect her too much. She dipped her head to the young warrior and glanced at Wolftail.
"Yeah, I am!" she purred in her distorted voice. She was trying to tense her jaw so that it wouldn't look as weird when she talked.

Fallenghost leapt gracefully to the the mentor and their apprentice and look at them with her blue eyes. "Are you ready to go out?" she murmured to both of them.

"Yeah, let's go." Wolftail nodded at Fallenghost. What an ominous name... very unique.

Another day of sending out patrols and thankfully this time he didn't have to bite anyone's head off for not reporting back. Padding to the middle of the clearing Brindlejaw readied himself to do his job.

(Optional Prompt: You find a baby bird that has fallen out of its nest, what will you do?)

"Mountainmist ( @Arie) I want you to lead the Thunderclan border patrol. Take Creekpaw ( @Wings), Flashclaw ( @Pluto), Shockpaw ( @Rainquail) with you please." Short and sweet, just the way he liked it.

(Optional Prompt: While patrolling a lot of frogs come hopping out. Will we have them for dinner or not?)

Turning his attention to the next patrol blazing orange eyes roamed the crowd for a certain clanmate. "Dimtail, I was asked by your apprentice Skypaw to be put on a patrol. Being a gentletom I decided to honor his request so you, Skypaw ( @NIGHTOWL), and Mistystorm ( @Quailsong) will be patrolling the Shadowclan border." Before dismissing the group Brindlejaw gave a little cheeky wink to the young male apprentice and swished his tail to let them go.

(Optional Prompt: Due to ice melting the river has become overflown. Seeing some fish in the middle of the border what will you do? Steal it for yourself or push it to the Riverclan side?)

"Fallenghost ( @Elementals ), I am entrusting you to lead the Riverclan border patrol. Wolftail ( @Skye) and his apprentice Twisted ( @TheNyanCatMinecart) will be joining you as well." Hmm, what was a ghost? Was it those things you see in your nightmares? Brindlejaw was not so sure, perhaps he could talk to Fallenghost about it and she could enlighten him.

Now this patrol was not so hard to do since a certain cat asked, well demanded, to be put on more patrols. "Aspenbreeze." Calling the feisty molly's name out. "You are in charge of the battle training patrol this time. Smoulderpaw ( @Beau) will of course be joining you as well with another apprentice who has requested to be put on this duty as well." Looking around the deputy spotted the lucky mentor that would be dragged into this. "Whispertail ( @Echobreeze18), your apprentice Fernpaw, ( @~Splash~) kindly asked me to put you two on battle training. So you will be joining Aspenbreeze and Smoulderpaw." Dipping his head to excuse the group.

(Optional Prompt: The patrol comes across a nest of snake eggs, what will they do? Leave it alone? Steal them? Destroy them?)

Good, only two more patrols to give out before he could take his own apprentice out to hunt. "Rushingmoor ( @Beau), Curlpaw ( @FuzzyRatto), and Crescentmoon ( @Fallen One) are all on the first hunting patrol."

(Optional Prompt: While hunting someone discovers a cave, will they go and be adventurous?)

One more and then Brindlejaw can be free! "The second hunting patrol will be lead by Thornspirit ( @elysian) and he will bring Lynxpaw ( @RedHead), Quicksilver, and Pumapaw ( @Arie)." Hopefully he was not making a mistake with trusting Thornspirit, well he had Quicksilver to help him through anything.

"Feel free to continue on without your clanmates if they are taking too long. If anyone has a problem feel free to come up to me and we can discuss how I can help you." With that the tom gave his clan a closed-lipped smile and sat out of the way of the crowds waiting to see if anyone wanted to talk to him.

All patrols are due on June 2. Please report back to Brindlejaw or Twilightstar when done! (:

Shockpaw bounced over to their mentor. "We ready to go!? Mountainmist? Creekpaw?"

Dimtail nodded to Brindlejaw. "Much appreciated." He strolled over to where Skypaw was. "Skypaw, Mistystorm. Whenever you two are ready."

Rushingmoor gave a mere nod and no vocal response. Not reacting at all to his apprentice’s attempt to scare him. He’d been perfectly aware of the young tom’s sneaking form. He wasn’t in the mood for pleasantries. The striped warrior headed straight for the entrance and made his way through, not bothering to check if the others were following and called over his shoulder,

“Have you hunted before, Curlpaw?”

Rushingmoor nodded, keeping his expression neutral. He was not susceptible to tangents, so he wasn’t concerned about Curlpaw’s tendency for them. It might be annoying to have to keep him on the ball all the time but the striped tom was confident he was the cat for the job. He also didn’t care about training with other mentor and apprentice pairs, so he merely gave a single nod and meowed,

“We can train with your friend some day if their mentor is amenable.”

He focused on his breathing, he didn’t want to wallop in sorrow or anything, but he’d try to keep it together, while speaking with Twilightstar. He was so grateful for Coldamber, she was willing to nurse his kits since he obviously couldn’t nurse kits himself. But that meant she was nursing nine kits. Luckily for her, Coyotesnarl was providing an herb called borage to cause Coldamber to make more milk.

The semi-sweet scent mixed with a few others reminded her of the nursery. She waits a moment before calling out, "Come in."

Gentlemoo sadly hung his head as he stepped in,” T-Tulipapple is....” he took a deep breath before sighing,” dead.” he meowed he didn’t normally stammer but he was struggling not to cry, it was least he could do was keep himself together long enough to have a conversation with Twilightstar about what happened.
