Ribbitpaw sat and listened to all the reassignments. He had never realized just how many cats disappeared from the clan with such short notice. He could only wonder where they all went off to. But the moment was cut short by the call for Irisflame and Echokit. Ooooh. This seemed interesting. Whatever it was, it sounded like it would be very important. But he had a feeling that it likely had to do with Echokit being Irisflame's new apprentice.

Whitefeather glanced over at Rainpaw with an inquisitive expression, then trotted over to meet-- "them". She heaved an internal sigh. What would Falcondive think? She'd have to call Rainpaw something. "They" were a singular cat. Not two, not three, one cat.

She knew Icestar didn't harbor any ill will toward these sorts of cats, and if she wanted to stay in ShadowClan and have a life for herself, she had to do what she was told.

She would train the apprentice, and that would be all.

She lived in a fallen world, and the cats who practiced this lifestyle were doing so because that was the only thing they knew.

So she would train it. That was what she was instructed to do. Nothing more.

Birchpaw sat down with his tail around his paws. Every inch of him twitching with excitement but he tried not to show it. He touched Thistlethorn with his muzzle and meowed Thank you.

Thistlethorn grumbled and met Birchpaw, reluctantly touching noses with him but staying silent. An apprentice... really. He had been given a good for nothing kit who now thought he was all that because of a name change. Ugh.
