Croakingpaw gave a nod and carefully walked closer to the mouse before trying to be a bit ahead of her, he dropped into a hunter’s crouch and stalked forward, quietly. He was getting close so he sprang, he may have sprayed dirt everywhere, but he landed on it. The mouse was trying to escape but Croakingpaw quickly bit it and felt it stop struggling and go limp.

Pebblefall wanted to screech happily, but knew it would scare away the other prey. "That was amazing! You caught prey on your first day!" she said, her eyes sparkling with joy. She couldn't wait to see how Croakingpaw would turn out "Im going to go after those squirrels, don't go to far, and yell if you need me!" She said

Croakingpaw was quite please with himself over it. He had caught prey. Since he was left there, he wasn’t sure on what he must do while waiting for her to return.

Before she climbed the trunnk she said, "You could find more prey, just no climbing trees, going by water, or going to far." She disappeared into the treetop, sinking her teeth into a squirrel.

Pebblefall watched from the tree, she want actually catching squirrels, beside the one that happened to be there. She smiled. "That was a good effort." She thought, proud of the tom. "I wish I could call him my apprentice." She waited to see what Croakingpaw would do next.

Croakingpaw flicked his tail and dropped into a crouch for another mouse. He crept forward towards a mouse and finally reached forward and pounced on the mouse and took a bite of the mouse and felt it drop dead.

She climbed down the tree. "Oh! You caught a mouse, thats awesome! I got this squirrel, the others ran away, I think we have enough to feed everyone tonight." She meowed warmly, licking the apprentice's head. She flicked her tail. "C'mon." She padded towards camp.

Fernkit sat in the nursery. She was very bored. It was 5 whole moons until she became an apprentice. She didn't really know any of the other kits very well, she just watched them play. She hadn't done any fighting moves, she just copied the other kits as they played, and she seemed to always almost get them right. She really wanted a friend to play with. She sighed. She started to groom herself, keeping an eye out just in case someone came up and played with her.
