Softheart took the time to verify, picking apart each scent, frog standing out more than the others because of how distinct it was. "Go-ood." She nodded, swishing her tail. Nothing she scented was too close, they'd have to veer further away to catch anything more and after battle training, she figured they should head in a straight line to camp. "We'll head ba-ack, you can eat a-after you make sure the elders are fe-e-ed, okay?" She wanted to make sure Thornpaw cared for her clanmates, she believed in being selfless after all.

"I'm not hungry" she told Softheart. She headed back to camp. She didn't want to tell anyone that she hunts in the Dark forest with Curseface, her other mentor.

Clearly Freezepaw wasn't happy to be here... the elderly cat couldn't blame her, this den was definitely not her top choice of places to hang around either. Birchflower grinned softly at the thoughts of her youth, something so far in the past at this point that it felt comical to even mention. "Many moons ago, I was much like yourself. A bit angsty, not all too social, and pretty dismissive. Doing all these jobs felt pointless, because it was. This is a clan! We were supposed to be learning how to defend it, not how to clean up after these piles of bones! Is exactly what I said. And goodness, if that didn't get me in the most trouble I've been in, I don't know what did. A whole moon straight of cleaning this place? No thanks, never again. This is why I pity you kids who come in here now, it's not a good time for anyone." Birchflower took a pause to catch her breath, she hadn't quite expected to speak so much at once. Gazing back to Freezepaw, the she-cat gave a quaint smile. "You're taught many things that don't need to be learned. But, it's not like I can change the rules of this dump."

Freezepaw was unsure of this new information. She listened to Birchflower, quietly and respectfully, going about her duties. Though at Birchflower's description of her younger self, relating it to Freezepaw now, the diluted torbie turned and gave Birchflower a narrowed-eyed glare, unimpressed with the deduction. Freezepaw knew it was true though, she'd often been called things like "edgy" and "angsty." She should expect it by now, those words were the norm when it came to describing her. Freezepaw personally didn't really care for labels though. Cats were who they were, and no label would tie her down. Not at all. She was her own cat, and other's trying to fit her into a description with a few words really didn't bode well with her.
Freezepaw decided it best to stay quiet though, for this time. She wasn't going to go get herself into trouble by snapping at an elder who just wanted to talk, probably because she was lonely. "Well I suppose that clans think that learning good, useful skills should come with a side package of learning useless skills like cleaning and taking care of.... those who can't take care of themselves." Freezepaw gave Birchflower a pointed look as she said this, having finished two nests with the moss she'd had.

Moonkit dipped her head to the apprentice and sat down in front of ambertail, happy to have the subject changed and to hear a story from one of the elders. She loved stories, whether they were true or not.

Venomkit poked her head outside of the nursery just in enough time to see the new apprentices greet their mentors. The kit realized soon this would be her before plopping herself next to Blackkit. "How are your new parents? Are you holding up with being blind ok" She mewed stopping herself from asking any more questions.

Beastspark couldn't hear the worry in the tom's voice but he could smell he was a little anxious about his decision with Chasepaw. Seeing as Cunningeye was with him, Beastspark didn't care that the apprentice had not returned with the rest of the patrol. He just didn't want Chasepaw out in the territory upset with no one looking after him.

"You made the right call." He reassured the warrior. "So long as Cunningeye is with him it's was probably better to let him blow off some steam without Freezepaw around." Some cats were more sensitive than others. Chasepaw was apparently one fo those cats.

As Rabbithop got back on track it was nice to see his hesitation vanish. He waves off the apology while thinking about the fur and the claw marks. Perhaps it was a rogue or someone, if it was a cat, rabbit fur even though they weren't uncommon in ShadowClan territory, pointed more to WindClan. But since Rabbithop said the scent was stale and it could be a badger as well, Beastspark shot the thought of WindClan trespassing from his head. It was highly unlikely with Twilightstar in charge.

"No, you've done more than enough, for now, thanks." He purred to Rabbithop genuinely. He was grateful to the warrior for the work. "You can go rest and eat." Beastspark would make sure to call upon Rabbithop in the future, he was one of the cats he could rely on.

Rabbithop gave the tom a smile back, mostly relieved he agreed with his decision but also relieved because he wasn’t sure he was going to be able to go back out and fix it now. Anyways, Rabbithop supposed that Chasepaw was the least of his worries since he had more to discuss with Beastspark about the claw marks and fur. He could see the other warrior thinking hard about it and he let Beastspark think, not wanting to interrupt in case he in fact did need him for something else. “Thanks Beastspark.” He couldn’t help but purr back. He dipped his head to the deputy - a cat he was starting to see more as a friend than just his superior - and padded off.

Irisflame remained unamused, the dislike for this 'Sunfall' growing by the minute. A from etched onto her features, she turned to the herb store as the apprentice explained to them the dilemma, voice tinted with fear. Is it ironic that Sunfalldecided to fall off a tree? She nabbed some marigold, some comfrey root, a celandine flower, some poppy seeds, cobwebs, rush, and a large oak leaf to carry it all. This would be a good learning experience for Echopaw as well, unless Sunfall decided to die. If he did, she'd slap some sense into him. Limping over with the large bundle in her mouth, she nodded to the shaking apprentice.
"Calm down. We're going to save dear Sunshine, no matter how stupid he turns out to be. D'ya mind taking us there? Unless he ' magically appears.'"
