Eveningpaw narrowed her eyes determined to get it right this time. She once again positioned herself a few tail lengths away from the pebble. Her eyes zeroed in on the rock, but this time she did her best to focus only on the rock, and not how much she wanted to get this right. Her vision blurred from staring so hard, but she shook her head to clear it. Another moment passed as she readied herself and with a flash of action Eveningpaw leapt into the air. It wasn't the most graceful landing but would do from a large fluffy feline, who lacked coordination like herself. Nevertheless, she landed on the rock and held it proudly between her paws like it was a real catch. Maybe she would stow it somewhere she wouldn't forget so she could keep it and remind herself of her humble beginnings. Oh, who was she kidding? She would keep it to remind herself of how awesome she was! Not that she needed reminding. The apprentice looked back to Softbriar proudly. "I landed on it!" She announced.

Softrbriar sat as they watched Eveningpaw's form this time around, happy with the quick improvement of the pounce. They waved their tail as they stood again. "Great!" They padded over, taking a moment to scent the air before they continued. "It could be improved but that'll happen with time. For now, follow me and stay quiet. I'm going to find you a mouse or squirrel to try and catch." Tracking was something harder to teach than just pouncing, so, for the time being, they would lead the way and allow Eveningpaw to try from there. They followed their nose through the brush, avoiding taking heavy steps but not completely crouching down just yet. "When we get close enough, I'll let you take the lead. Just stalk close enough, pounce, and kill it with a bite. Your instincts should help you along." They spoke in a hushed tone, nodding in the direction the wind was coming from, bringing with it the scent of rodent.

She let an amused purr out at Cherrybubble's reaction. Maybe dry cats fit them better but the bi colored warrior was still pretty. Pinepuff shook out her long pelt as she moved out of the stream behind Cherrybubble. "Perhaps it does, but darling you can't convince me it wasn't cute." She purred, a smirk on her muzzle. Yes this was just getting better and better. Cherrybubble was so easy to have fun with as well. Not as closed off as she first expected. With the challenge, her tail waved up above her dropping water on her head as she did. "A run hmm? Yes, I would like that." Pinepuff smiled moving to the bi colored warrior's side.

Cherrybubble shrugged with a smirk on her maw. "Well... what can I say?I'm pretty much always cute." She meowed, before winking at Pinepuff and leaning down, stretching out her forepaws to get ready for the run they were about to go on. "I say a run up the cliffs ought to dry us all off. As you know, only the best warriors go up there." She grinned, a sparkle in her eyes. Now this... this was more of a reason to go on a walk. Exercise, fun, and well... now just more of a reason to spend more time with Pinepuff.

Pebblefur bounded in to the forest, glancing back ever once-in-a-while to make sure Thrushfeather was keeping up. @aleka!

Bouncesnarl padded into Tree of Murmurs. He didn't really believe in ghosts, so it wouldn't be too bad to hunt here. "Okay Ivypaw show me what you know.", he meowed. Bouncesnarl wanted to start off seeing what she could do.

Deerpetal lead the way to a great place to hunt not too far from the camp. The molly stopped and turned to lionpaw. "Do you scent anything?", she asked. She may not be his mentor, but she was curious of what he could do. It would be good practice for her for when she becomes an actual mentor.

Ivypaw thought a moment, trying to remember the Hunter's Crouch she'd seen a few apprentices practice before; she lowered herself carefully until she was a mouse-length or so above the ground, but kept her paws a bit too stretched out.

Bouncesnarl watcher form, seeing that she stretched her paws out too much. "When catching prey it's best to have your paws closer together or you'll end up tripping on something.", he meowed. Bouncesnarl attempted to push her left paw towards the other, but made sure they didn't touch or they would trip anyway.

Oh! she thought with slight embarrassment. She quickly moved her paws closer to her, and made sure to keep them from touching each other. "Is this good?" she mewed.

Bouncesnarl stepped back and made sure. "Yes that's perfect. Now let me see your stalk.", he meowed. Once she got the hang of everything they could begin hunting for real after he tested her nose.

Setting down the gold finch, Duskpaw smiled at her mentor. And her fur felt hot as Foxbound praised her. Though, it was true, Duskpaw was shaping up to be a great apprentice. Not warrior material yet because of her injury. Thank StarClan Sore was gone, and if she ever saw that tom again, she would kill him on sight.

Duskpaw heard it too, the quiet scuffle of a mouse on the forest floor. She gave a quick nod at Foxbound's question and dropped into a crouch. Hopefully she would catch this one too. Turning away from her mentor and the finch she had just caught, her ears lead her to the small creature. Looking through the grass for food. Not paying attention to a dry leaf, she accidentally stepped on it. Crackle! She gave a silent hiss as she ran forward. Trying to get to the mouse she had spooked. Gaining quickly, she slammed her paw down on the creature, claws hooking into its flesh. She reached down at nipped it's spine. Quickly killing it.

Foxbound followed her apprentice this time, keeping quiet as she stalked along the ground. Her ears pricked as there was suddenly a loud crackle, it only taking her a moment to realize that Duskpaw must have stepped on a twig or something like that. She raised her head in alarm but did watch as Duskpaw darted after the mouse, fumbling a but, but she did manage to catch and kill it. Padding over, Foxbound gave a nod and a smile down at the mouse before glancing back at Duskpaw. "You're fast. That's good." She meowed, then dropped into a crouch, her tail held out behind her. "But here's a little tip. If you brush your paws gently across the top of the ground, you'll feel things like dry leaves and twigs without stepping on them. It'll help you pinpoint where they are and step over them while still keeping your eyes on your prey."
