Puffinhop melted into her arms with a small purr, nestling down into the warmth of her silver fur with a smile. It was the first time he felt truly relaxed in ages. "Thank you," He whispered, closing his eyes as he felt all sleepy.

She mrowed softly and rested her chin on Puffinhop's head. "Stay as long as you need. I'm here for you."
She felt very strong maternal love for her former apprentice. She did for most of her apprentices. But Puffinhop was admittedly her favourite. He had always been a good egg.

she yawned and opened her dark blue eyes and slowly stood up. she stretched her little kitten front legs out and stretched her mouth in a big yawn, the black and blue grey kit
moved back into a standing position. her white spots are slightly dirty with dirt and moss.

SoftFeather sat outside the entrance if the nursery, watching her young kits explore the clearing, "I'll miss them when they become apprentices and move out of the nursery." she muttered to herself. "WillowKit, don't go too far!" She called, getting up and padding to the she-kit attacking the little sapling. The grey queen licked her head and went to check on her son, BlueKit, "Isn't this awesome!" SoftFeather exclaimed enthusiastically.

Bluekit jumped up, his amber eyes seemingly glowing in the light. “Look! Thos rock kind of looks like a paw!”

He pointed at a small circular rock with little bumps. “It’s so interesting!”

Puddlepaw couldn't help but shift around anxiously on his paws as Applehaze gave him some feedback. His mentor certainly seemed okay for the most part, but the apprentice couldn't help but notice a small hint in Applehaze's voice that the blow hadn't been entirely painless. Judging off the impact felt in his paw when the blow had landed, he was fairly convinced that it hurt, and quite a bit too. "Ack. Again, I apologize if it hurt. I'll be sure to be more careful with controlling force." He gave a bit of a sheepish grin to show he was genuine, before listening closely as his mentor piped up again.

Oh? Trying it one more time? Now that was a bit of a good thing in his opinion. He could redeem himself this time around. Second time's the charm. No wait, that was third time. Ehh, whatever. What really mattered was that this time he knew to be gentler in delivering the blow. He was feeling quite assured of this session going all well, until Applehaze mentioned the next moves and claimed they were even more "exciting". "Yeah, they sound cool! Can't wait to learn them!" He put on a bright smile and cheery voice, acting optimistic to learn them, when in reality his nerves were seriously getting to him. The belly rake and front paw strike sounded even more intimidating than this front paw blow, and if he'd already messed up here, then he wasn't quite looking forward to those other moves that sounded more difficult. But that wasn't what he should be worrying about in this moment. Right now, he needed to execute the move properly so that they could move on and eventually get this whole thing over and done.

Now, Applehaze had mentioned he'd done it "right-ly", aside from the amount of force, of course, so he kept everything the same as he raised his paw up into the air for a second time. He did hesitate at the top again, which he knew he probably wasn't supposed to be doing, but he just needed a heartbeat or two to think this through. Last time had been too hard, yes, but he didn't want to be toooo gentle either. A tiny boop on the head likely wouldn't be very effective in any sort of fight, so perhaps the best option was to average those two out. Yeah. Feeling a little more confident now, he brought his paw down, not too hard, and not too gentle, just about what he thought might be the right amount. He hoped that if and when it landed, it wouldn't be as bad as last time.

Gullpaw gave a small sigh before retreating to camp.
