Re: Training in the Shadows

----Frigidpaw----
And, of course, as Frigidpaw was busy studying the scenery around him, Maplepaw chose that moment to attempt to sneak up behind him. He didn't notice the other apprentice and leaned forward to peer at the ground, ears swiveling back and forth as he took in each and every sound.
Then claws on bark hit his senses and he blinked, sitting up and glancing over his shoulder. A squirrel? No, no, it couldn't be. Squirrels weren't nocturnal, were they? He glanced down at the trunk, and his heart fluttered.
There, below him, was Maplepaw. His eyes narrowed, and with a grunt he reached up, dug his claws into the tree, and scrambled upward, onto the next reachable branch.

Re: Training in the Shadows
Maplepaw heard a rustle, and continued climbing upward, convinced he was on the right track. He heaved himself onto the first branch, and sniffed about. The other apprentice had gone up, and was probably still above him. Well, the fox was gonna catch something! @ Slushie

Re: Training in the Shadows
letting out a -- slightly loud -- breath of relief after finpaw had gone away. or at least, she'd assumed it was finpaw; all she'd seen was the rear end of his body as he walked off when she'd poked her head hesitantly to see if he was gone. her heartbeat slowed a little as she calmed down. this was supposed to be fun! a competition of sorts! she could do competitions.. there was nothing to be worrying about. dreampaw had this.
pawing at one of the leaves as it tickled her nose, it got stuck to the end of her paw. well,.... that'd certainly given her an idea, though it would be annoying trying to make an escape after doing said idea. she glanced around skeptically, seeing a bush nearby. she gathered a few leaves, trying to make as little noise as possible, and stuck them all around her fur as they clung to the mud. scurrying softly back to her hiding spot, dreampaw relaxed, hoping that nothing she'd done was suspicious. the apprentice smiled to herself, crouching even deeper into the bush/tree.
look like a bush. think like a bush. become the bush.
