Okay. Now Leopardpaw was practically beginning to bubble with laughter: were all Clan cats truly this weak? This weak and desperate? Good god...

The cashmere proceeded on with jerking her massive, furry head aside in an attempt to grab hold of Gullpaw's scruff and tug. Not enough to puncture flesh, no, but just enough to hopefully daze the little apprentice and give her throat a few daylong aches.

Gullpaw was caught by surprise as she was captured so she thrashed around trying to kick Leopardpaw with her free hind legs, knowing she wouldn’t fall to far to the ground.

The cashmere permitted a combined caterwaul of both pain and shock as Gullpaw's legs thrust outward, getting Leopardpaw right in the gut. Gritting her fangs, the older apprentice tore her forepaws free of Gullpaw's scruff and stumbled doggedly backward. Ugh.

Emotions still whirled within Heathernose. She’d never felt this disoriented for this long but everything seemed to be piling up and confusing her. She didn’t even feel like she could get away but she needed to try and a walk through the moor seemed the best way. Sighing, the tortoiseshell trudged along the moor, not even feeling like stopping amongst the heather as she usually did. Perhaps it would calm her, though.

Heathernose paused amongst a thicket of heather and breathed deeply to let the aroma swirl around her. Some lavender must have grown around the heather for the sweet, calming scent seemed to balm her tense muscles through the scent glands on the roof of her mouth.

Thornsprint was walking through the territory, a shrew in his mouth and a scowl on his face. The tabby wouldn’t had more if it wasn’t for a bird who decided to screech and scare away his rabbit. Great. He had only managed to catch the very small shrew that was dangling from his mouth. And he was annoyed.

Thornsprint caught a familiar scent. Heathernose. His so-called mate. Didn’t he see her exchanging words with another Tom? Not to mention the whole execution deal. Padding up to her, frown on his face, Thornsprint said, "Heathernose." No emotion, no fluffy greeting. This was something that had to be said. She could — would step out of the heather to talk to him for a bit. If she didn’t...

A voice made Heathernose jump and she swiftly turned to look at Thornsprint. Uh oh. She wasn’t afraid so much as nervous that the conversation would be awkward like it was the last time- she didn’t know how to be someone’s mate and the uncertainty was taking its toll on her mental health. Maybe she really was too young for this...

Thornsprint’s voice was flat and for some reason it made the fur on her back prickle. What was up with her? She was acting like he was the enemy when she knew fully well that he wasn’t. He had a right to be a bit upset with her for brushing him off earlier and with a start she realized why she felt so nervous- she felt guilty! The tortoiseshell quickly stepped out of the heather and went to touch Thornsprint’s nose, knowing she should be trying harder to be a bigger part of this relationship.

He hoped to get an early start with his apprentice today, they were long over due for a good attempt at a hunting session and he wanted to see where he would need to focus the most when it came to Rabbitpaw's training. So if you want to learn, better follow me," with that the silver tom trotted further out into the territory, pausing and waiting for Rabbitpaw to show up.

Rabbitpaw followed eagerly after his mentor, smiling with delight and letring out a soft purr of excitement. "I've never flushed rabbits before!" He mewed.

Gullpaw was quick, yes, and desperate - maybe a little too desperate - but that didn't mean she was quick enough for such a cashmere, because as soon as the little apprentice gave a go at trying to heft herself up onto Leopardpaw, the massive molly performed a quick step to the side. Watch her bang her face into the dirt, thought the former queen with a triumphant bounce of her cruel little heart.
