Flyfur had taken the opportunity to take advantage of the quiet of the early morning before the worse of the midday bustle and left to the river to go fishing.
She was hoping it was the right season that those weird fish that inhabit the fast paced stream to make their appearance. She enjoyed fishing in the stream far more than she ever did in the calmer waters of Cattail Pond.
She waited in the shadow of a tree, stooped at the edge of the rock riverbank, paw outstretched, waiting, watching.....
Until a sudden gleam of scales and the splashing of water. Her paw swiped at a blinding speed, slapping the large fish just as it leapt from the water, momentum sending it away from the water.
She chased it, to sink her teeth into its spine before it flopped back into the water..... except the fish had gone flying straight for a very familiar cat and she stopped, attempting to avoid crashing into him.

Quailsnap felt the sudden vibrations of pawsteps nearby, lifting his head so he could try to scent the creature coming towards him. The pawsteps suddenly grew faster, and Quailsnap caught the scent of one of his clanmates.... urk.... it was still so hard to tell who was who by just scent. But another scent caught his nose soon after, a... fish? In the air? Quailsnap was far too busy being confused by the scent and why there was a fish in the air, that he didn't move out of the way at all, instead sitting there dumbfounded. Which lead to the fish slapping him right in the face. The tom flailed around for a moment, reaching up to try and get the scaly creature off of his face, and only ended up fumbling with the slippery fish before he tumbled backward, landing on his back on the bank, and the fish made it's gleeful escape from his paws and back into the river.
Quailsnap stay on his back, blinking up at the bright, bright light that was now all he could see, the normal smudged of color disappearing into just one blank, sky blue expanse. It was calming, in a way, but Quailsnap was still dumbfounded from his encounter with the flying fish. But wait... There was a cat here. He could still smell her. Maybe she had something to do with the runaway fish and his slow descent into indignity.

Shadedpaw fluffed up his pelt and nodded slightly as he redid the position he had before but this time was better keeping his shadow off of the water

"Sootflare." he replied, "I'm the deputy of RiverClan. Second-in-command. Let's get a move on bud." With introductions over with, Sootflare grabbed Ebony by the scruff and headed back in the direction of camp. He wasn't about to wait for the kit to stumble its way through the territory.

She ignored the fish as it flopped away, more focused on the clanmate she accidentally assaulted with a fish. Carefully padding up to him, her head was held low and ears folded backwards. "I'm so sorry- I didn't mean to throw the fish at you. I- I really hadn't realized you were there."
Flyfur took a deep breathe and made herself calm down. "Would you like help up?" It was, quite literally, the least she could do considering it was her fault. She was already moving to help him up.

Finally something meaningful to do! Though he didn't like the fact that getting caved in was a possibility again..if so just don't let it be him this time. And he got to do this with his apprentice which made him smile. And he was glad that Lionstar could trust him with one...unlike a certain she cat who couldn't be bothered to finish two patrols..

Looking at the two cats "stick together . I don't want any cave ins..only chase a prey for ten paw lengths and come back. " was he being clingy? Possibly ..But it was for their safety . "finchpaw get over here so I can finally teach you something !" he smiled, unlike some cats he wasn't afraid to admit he's been neglectful . Even though a bit of him was.

Splashfury had not been around the tunnels much and was still exploring upon it. She wondered why Windclan used to have an obsession with tunnels when they liked staying out in the open.

"Why couldn't we use branches and reeds to support the insides?" Splashfury asked.
