Today was the day. No more Mr. Nice Guy! He was going to put himself out there and BE a memorable cat, not just some background character that sat on the sidelines and did nothing all day. Ew. That sounded boring. Time to experiment!
Carefully he shuffled up to a cat in the clearing he hardly knew - Shinepaw, he thought her name was - and cleared his throat. This was it. No time to be awkward now. "Hey," he said, trying to make his voice sound sultry and charming. "I think I might be lost. Can you give me some directions... to your heart?" He flashed her a grin.

He'd spent nearly all day trying to catch a glimpse of this cat, and now she was right across the clearing from him. She was absolutely enchanting, and even if she made him nervous on the inside, he still figured she might be a good cat to try out his new thing on.
He got to his paws and sauntered over to her, head held high and tails curled over his back in what he hoped was an elegant or charming manner - maybe even both. As he neared her, he called out, "Hey there. You're pretty. I'm cute. Together we'd be pretty cute, don't you think?"

Bluepaw turned around to see Curlpaw, was it? "Hi-" She started as he began to speak, and the pale she-at rolled her eyes at his little flirt, though she would play along a bit. Ha, this would be fun, and it wasn't against the warrior code! If it was, she'd reject him right away, but- okay, enough abut the warrior code. "Maybe." She mewed, pretending to be uncomfortable and embarrassed.

Shinepaw almost jumped when she heard a random cat, whipping around she glared at Curlpaw. Her jaw dropped when the tom tried to flirt with her! "No, you can't! Nice try on flirting idiot!"

Raising a paw she gave Curlpaw a good smack, she kept glaring at him, she'd definitely be telling Bumblydad about this too!

The smack sent him reeling, his eyes flaring wide with shock. He hadn't been expecting THAT kind of reaction! And from a simple sentence, of all things! Great StarClan, this cat was mad. It was a good thing he didn't have a crush on her because that would have made his interest vanish in an instant.
He shook his head to clear his vision, confusion overtaking his initial anger. "It was a JOKE," he muttered. "Are you this upset at everyone?"

Hmmm. He hadn't been expecting that reaction. But he supposed it just made the whole thing all the more fun. Of course, he already knew her name, but he figured this would be a neat line to try out. "So, do you have a name, or can I call you mine?"
