Thornpaw sat by the edge of the clearing, her eyes clouded with grief. I should of done something so Silvermist could of had time to run away. I should of been the one to die. Why did my former mentor have to die? Why didn't I do something? Why didn't I get in the way of the deputy? Why didn't I react faster?

Blackhaze had had enough. “Could you just LET IT GO! She died, there was nothing you could do! Sho get up! And MOVE ON!!” Blackhaze yelled at the cat. He loved her so much (platonically) and it killed him that she was still on this.
