The last thing Aspensky expected was for the medicine cat to pop out of the shadows and address him of all felines. They hadn't ever really talked before except for perhaps in some insignificant passing interaction he couldn't recall. He gave a start at the sudden noise before realizing what was going on. It had been his attention to make a pitstop at the nursery to see if the queens needed anything before heading to take a nap in his nest but it seemed those plans would have to wait. What could Fawnsqueak want from him? He was curious now.

"Of course!" he replied, flashing a reassuring smile. Maybe the tom wanted some advice? Aspensky did his best to make it known to the clan he was always open to talk. Though... his last talk had been with Bumblebelly and that hadn't gone nearly as well as normal. "What is it, son?"

Fawnsqueak's gratitude spilled out in a giddy, nervous laugh that he cut off abruptly by coughing again. Ugh, he was doing that a lot lately. "Soo," he began, hanging on the syllable as his paw scuffed at the ground. "It's about Sootflare, who.. you know him. Your son, that guy?" Fawnsqueak knew he was stalling, knew he had to jump right in and suck it up. No pussyfooting around. That wouldn't solve anything. "I just, was sort of wondering if you'd noticed anything about him recently that maybe.. was irregular? Like, in his behavior. I don't know. It was-- he talked to me, kind of recently and it was .. weird." Once the thought dump was out, he gulped in a shuddering breath to peek expectantly at Aspensky, curious. It was only then that it occurred to him their relationship may not be the typical father-son bond and could be complicated, might not even be on good terms. Which.. would render this a waste.

a patrol? a patrol. fun! only it probably wasn't because the last patrol she'd went on had been back befor---no, she shouldn't dwell on the past. padding over swiftly to redfang and greenheart, spiderpaw gave them each a halfhearted smile, waiting for them to continue onwards. this would be... alright. wouldn't it? just to smallpines and back. that wouldn't cause any problems... "alrighty! let's goo!!" she could totally do this. pfffff, just another regular patrol -- no biggy. not every patrol meant that someone would go missing right afterwards.. right? "c'monnn," she said, hoping to get this done as soon as physically possible.

Lionstar quirked his brow at Splashpaw when she bounded over, and the loner that accompanied her. "Where's Sparrowskip? I thought he was taking you out." He assumed the warrior was coming, but was curious for his report on the matter since Lionstar wasn't in the rush to accept some randos into his Clan.

Blizzardpaw blinked,” That sucks. I’m surprised I’m yet to be a kit myself.” he commented. He knew the pain of being an older kit, but not the pain of demotion.
