When the kit came, she cleared her nose and mouth of after birth before letting her mother take her.
Coldamber noticed the lack of effort to clean the new kit, so she resumed where Featherwhisker had left off, being easy enough the little kit could nurse, chalking the inattentive attitude to being tired from kitting.
She wanted to believe that's all it was, but she saw how the queen's nose scrunched in disgust, the look she gave Rosebriar. You'd think she would have been grateful her child was alive, after just having a stillborn.
She had to duck her head out of sight as her lips formed a silent sneer.

Feeling more clean, the she-kit snuggled farther into her mother's fur, and quickly fell asleep, feeling happy and loved. @Rainquail @Mumble @TheNyanCatMinecart

Rosebriar gasped as she saw the abomination. "Wh-what's wrong with her?" she demanded, her head spinning around to face Coldamber. "Why is one kit dead and the other some awful sort of abomination? Surely there's a good explanation for this!"

Yes. Snuggles solved everything. That was the big and world breaking conclusion that Stagpaw had come to as he snuggled up to Twiglight. She was nice... and comfy. And she wasn't kicking him away nor making him leave so he really really appreciated that. Not that he had grown terribly much more since then, he was still tiny for an apprentice of his age but that wasn't to do with anything but the fact that he'd suffered from lack of nutrition. So sitting up straight he tapped her head with a paw with a smile. This would be FUN! Unless he came across a tick. Would Twiggy expect him to clean that? Nooo... no thanks. It would most likely end up stuck on him and he didn't want that. But maybe Twig never got ticks! Because she never really left her den... was her den a tick safe place?Deciding to go forth with this massive task he had ahead of him he began grooming Twiglight's fur but soon paused to answer her questions... well the stuff he'd questioned and she'd then proceeded to answer. "So.. just don't lie to Twig? I can go lie to Mushy about you liking those really really grey flowers?" That would be fun! Maybe Twig would toss them after him! Yet as she commented on the fact that he would be sent back after a capture a scowl made it unto his face. "I'm not that bad! They're the bad ones! I am not asking to get captured but... I don't think they could kick me back! I'm not that horrible!" And then... when she talked about her head hurting he patted it with a paw again. "My head hurts too! when you SLAP it! So... we're even!"

Unless her talk with Snippy involved her giving him Parasite to train, then she didn't see the reason why she'd need to go talk to the deputy. Resigned to her fate as Parasite snuggle buddy, Twilightstar growls to herself while shifting around in her nest to get comfortable. It would take a little time for her to get used to, yet she was pretty certain she could most likely fall asleep with the tumor. She narrowed her eyes and shot a grumpy look in Parasite's direction as he poked her. She was going to bite his paw if he did it again. That would give him a reason to go visit the deputy.
She wasn't fond of the grooming, but instead of telling him to knock it off, she left him to his own devices. If his tongue was licking then that meant he wouldn't be talking. That was enough for her to bear this sloppy grooming. But of course, he went on chattering as if he couldn't help himself. The molly's flank heave as she draws in a sharp breath and lets it out through her nose in a loud exhale.
"Parasite, has anyone ever told you that you talk too much?" She asked, dropping her head to her forepaws with a soft yawn. "Don't you want to take a nap? I would think after crying like that you'd be tired." She'd be tired if she cried a river, tears were exhausting. "If you're not going to go to sleep, then go find Mushy to talk too. Your voice hurts my head way more than when I cuff you."

"Another kit, Skunblaze?" Twilightstar mewed as soon as the warrior stepped inside. The leader stood up and padded over to the kit huddling by the she-cat, dipping her head to sniff the tiny creature. "Well, it does certainly look young. Go ahead and place'em in the nursery, make sure you find a queen willing to feed the kit." They had a few newer queens that could probably take care of the kit. "What's the name?"

Ashfeather padded into Twilightstar's den, her heart beating rapidly in her chest. Silently, she prayed that fear-scent wasn't coming off of her, even if that fear wasn't too intense. Why had Twilightstar called her into the den? Had she done something wrong? She stopped once she was inside, her paws shifting below her anxiously. Anxiety filled her up until her dull black pelt pickled slightly, but she forced it to smooth down. She didn't want to appear that way. That would be embarrassing, but she couldn't help it, could she? Shifting on her paws again, she gulped and felt a tiny trickle of drool come from the corner of her mouth. I hope that Twilightstar didn't see that, she thought, her heart pounding even harder. Oh, this was an awful representation. Taking a deep breath, Ashfeather asked, "Wh-what is it, Twilightstar? Y-you called me." She hated the stutter. Wasn't she a fully-grown warrior now? And her voice distortion was even worse than normal with nervousness. Ashfeather just stayed silent after that and waited for the WindClan leader.

Rosebriar padded into the leader's den less than a minute after Ashfeather did. Quickly, she ducked to avoid that awful mangled excuse of a tail that she had. Twilightstar had called them both in, and silently, she probably knew what it was about. It would be about her behavior toward that ugly cat, wouldn't it? But she couldn't help it! Ashfeather, more like Twistedface, represented what she hated most: an ugly cat of impure blood that would mess up the Clan! Oh, no, she was already ruining her popularity! However, she kept a calm face and tried not to breathe in the musky, dusty scent of her enemy. Ew. The fear mingled with the natural dust and whatever else clung onto the black-and-gray cat's pelt was revolting. Taking a deep breath to clear her head from... whatever that scent was, she asked, "What is it, Twilightstar? You called me, and I came." Her voice was calm and smooth, sweet just like honey. She had to have a good impression if the leader were to judge her so harshly.

Twilightstar's nose wrinkles as soon as Ashfeather steps inside the den. Her fear scent wasn't overwhelming, but it was strong enough for the lilac to catch it as soon as she steps foot inside. The warrior exhibited signs of anxiety as well. Despite becoming a warrior, Ashfeather didn't seem to have any confidence in herself at all. It wasn't as bad as Puffinhop's anxiety just yet, but she could easily see it getting there. Twilightstar did feel a tad bit guilty for not speaking up sooner about this. She didn't care much for the stutter, lots of cats had their little ways of speaking. Ashfeather needed to build up more self-confidence in herself, but Twilightstar could see about working on that after she got to the bottom of the Blackhaze thing.
Rosebriar was Ashfeather's polar opposite, just at once glance, she could see that Rosebriar wasn't nervous in the slightest, the ginger molly had a great deal of self-assurance in herself. Was that because she thought herself pretty? Twilightstar didn't get vanity, yet judging from how Rosebriar talked to Ashefeather before and how she made sure to avoid her tail as she walked in, it almost seemed like Rosebriar was worried about catching Ashfeather's disformities or something. Whatever it was, Twilightstar was going to have to put a stop to it now.
"First off, congratulations on becoming warriors, I am proud of you both." She spoke truthfully, she knew the path to becoming a warrior wasn't always an easy one. But they both had worked hard and accomplished it, that was something to be delighted with. She let the two bask in the praise for a moment before moving on to grittier stuff.
"Ashfeather, I've been wanting to ask you about Blackpaw...or rather Blackhaze now. I'm sure that your aware of the tension between ShadowClan and WindClan because of his actions. Rosebriar told me that he attacked her out of some strange sense of loyalty or friendship he had for you." Twilightstar implied, tail lashing back and forth as she waited to see Ashfeather's reaction to her words. "I was just wondering what your affliction is with him and why he'd go so far to ignore borders and attack Rosebriar?" She didn't think Ashefeather would lie to her, everyone in the clan should know by now that it was very unwise. She wanted to see where the molly's loyalty was.
"Rosebriar, I've been hearing some rumors about you and your mother, Featherwhisker. You're mother's already in hot water with me." She warned with a soft and stern hissed. "You've been picking on Ashfeather for quite some time, the way she looks isn't good enough for you. I don't mind what you think about other cats, but when it becomes verbal or physical then it becomes a problem for me. It seems that Ashfeather's disformities aren't too your liking. You are constantly putting her down because of them. Is that true?"

Yes, another kit. Skunkblaze sighed. Why did she always find them? It was somewhat embarrassing, always coming into the leaders den with another mewling lump of fur in her mouth. Dipping her head at the order to take the kit to the nursery, she mewed I don't think he has a name. She wasn't sure if Twilightstar would name him, or leave it up to the queen who adopted him, not that she cared. @Moonraven @BestDragonslayer

Coldamber glanced up from her ministrations to the kit and moved back, looking back at the stillborn. Her voice cracked with emotion.
"Sometimes these things happen, something happens while the kits form and they die or don't come out quite right. It happens, and sometimes it has nothing to do with us, or what we've done, even if it feels that way."
She ignored the way Rosebriar called the kit an abomination and glanced over at Featherwhisker.
"Do you believe that is the last of the kits?"
If so, she would get about to swapping her moss with fresh, clean moss to prevent sickness to her or the kit. Not to mention, she needed to do something about the stillborn.

Staring at the kit as it suckled, she couldn't help but agree with Rosebriar. She knew it must have something to do with sunpelts genes, but she would have a little talk with him about that later. She tore her gaze away from the pitiful kit and focused on coldamber. Her body was still vigorously twitching, so it must've been obvious that there were still kits on the way. All she could do was shake her head before yet another stab of pain flared in her stomach. Ducking her head, she pushed with all her might and felt the small body of a newborn kit appear near her side. Bracing herself, she slowly turned to look at the kit and sighed in relief. At last, a normal kit! In fact, she was one of the prettiest kits she had ever seen. A weak purr escaped her as she set to cleaning the kit, her eyes full of love and compassion. She gingerly picked up the kit and placed her at her belly, though she put some distance between the two kits.
