Flarerunner blinked, shuffling away from his tail as her mind refocused on the conversation. "Oh, sorry. You wouldn't really understand, seeing as you're not from the clan and haven't been around for all the past events." She told him bluntly.

"Well then, Jasper, it's not something I could talk about. I'm not willing to risk my life just to tell a loner what's going on. No offense, but I don't really know you. For all I know, you could turn right around and go yowling to Singenight, and I'd be dead quicker than you can say 'mouse'." Flarerunner's eyes widened, realizing all too late that she had given too much away. "Please, don't go spreading this," she pleaded with Jasper. I can't get killed! I can't leave Thornpelt! Why am I such a mouse brain?

"I won't tell this 'Singenight'. Don't worry Flarerunner.", Jasper tilted his head thinking,"Does your clan worship anything?"

Flarerunner sighed. She had already given a lot away, what harm was there in telling the rest of the story? Besides, it didn't sound like Jasper even knew who Singenight was! "Some of us, yes. We believe in Starclan. When cats in the clan die, they join Starclan. We see our ancestors every night, looking up at Silverpelt. I'll show you it sometime, but it's a specific cluster of stars. But... Singenight, our new leader, took over. Leaders normally take on the suffix star, but to disrespect Starclan he and the other leaders of the clans took night instead. He forbade us from following Starclan, and when some cats spoke up he... he killed them," She choked out. "In front of everyone. That's why you can't mention this to anyone. If one of Singenight's followers found out I was against him and was talking about it, he'd kill me."

Jasper fur bristled,"A leader shouldn't kill others for speaking up!",he stood up quickly,"Like I said before I won't tell him about you saying this. But I will fight against this cat. He's fox hearted to even be in power! And punishing anyone for believing in um StarClan right?"

Singenight watched the loner approach from Riverclan. The young leader had heard the yowls from across the border and wondered what the heck was going on there. He shifted on is legs and made himself known as the cat began to move once again. "Do I smell a traitor? Or an intruder?" he said tensely, his long limbs assisting him in towering over the other cat. He felt a low rumble in his chest. Due to the noise and all from Riverclan, the tom had to suspect guilty until proven otherwise.

Flarerunner's eyes widened. "Sit down! You're calling attention over here!" A few cat says had turned their heads, looking curiously at Jasper as he had stood up so quickly. She gestured to him with her tail, motioning for him to get back down. "You can't fight him- he has too many supporters, and we don't have enough cats to fight him. They're all too scared to stand up to him. Yes, it's Starclan."
