ThunderClan: Life Before 2023's Sinkhole

Lightkit looked at his brother with a blank face. It quickly shifted int mildly annoyed face.
"Ugh, what do you want!" he asked in an exaduratedly deep voice. He always tried to sound deep. He flipped the long fur between his ears sideways and gave Smokekit a dark look of hatred.

A few moments passed as she thought over his words. Once her answer was chosen, she allowed a sad smile to curl at her lips.

"I'll leave. Become a loner. Once I am no longer leader, I will have no place in the Clan. Hell, I'd probably be driven out if I didn't go willingly. With all I've done, you would all be better off without me. I'm... I'm useless."

Useless little Duskfeather.

Duskstar sighed and rested her head on her paws, closing her eye. They needed to rest for the journey to the Starcave.

"Thank you, Buckbranch. I... I'm sorry for how I treated you before. You've proven yourself worthy of being a good leader. I believe in you," she shared a genuine smile, though she didnt move her head, "We should rest now. There is a long journey ahead of both of us."

With that, she thankfully slipped into a light sleep, this time with no nightmares. Tomorrow would mark the start of new lives for the both of them.

Smokekit smiled a bit, trying not to let it falter, “Why do you not like me?”

A loner. Like Flintspirit, after he resigned. Like Softbriar, if they weren't dead. Was all of ThunderClan's leaders destined to leave the Clans one time or another? Would he eventually follow suit? He'd certainly try his best not to.

He shook his head at her apology. "Like I said before: what's past is past. We can only look forward. But... thank you. For at least giving me a chance before you leave." He returned her smile, and gently touched his nose to her ear before returning to his own spot in the den, settling on bare ground. He'd have to scrape together a nest tomorrow.

Tomorrow, the Starcave, tomorrow. They were his last thoughts before he slipped into an uneasy sleep.

"Because you're stupid. Like all the others." replied Lightkit. How dare Smokekit get upset at him! No one understands his pain. He huffed and lashed his tail irritably.

(what minute? Also i assume Smokekit will eventually get used to his brother and just call it a "phase" like their mum.)

Smokekit sat beside his brother and flicked his ear. “So tell me about it.”

(Smoke will just become his laid back sidekick. Lol.)

Rainywhisker blinks, copper eyes darkening with confusion. He already had an apprentice, had Duskstar forgotten? She seemed... Stressed out, to say the least. His eyes swipe over the new apprentices. "Valleypaw," the warrior meows huskily as he stands and pads closer. He'd done this so many times in such a recent few moons. It was beginning to weigh on him. When the new deputy is announced, he blinks. Buckbranch? The warrior watches as the other tom accepts the announcement and heads off after the meeting concludes. "Interesting," he mutters under his breath before clearing his throat again. "So, Valleypaw. Let's talk. What do you want to do on your very first day of being an apprentice?"

The newly appointed Valleypaw sent her sister one last gleaming smile before she was led off by Rainywhisker after the whole standard greeting was done with. She could barely pay any attention to the next few announcements, instead choosing to stare at her new mentor with interest. She was impatiently waiting for Duskstar to shut up - but at least being decent about it and not interrupting.
Her eyes brown eyes lit as the tom asked what she wanted to do. Which meant to her that she was already running the show - which was perfectly fine in her eyes, she preferred it that way. "I've already seen plenty of territory already." She'd practically lived out there with the rest of them before the camp had been built up after all. "I really want to try battle training." She was a decisive one, so it didn't take her long to decide. "...if possible." The latter mutter was added last minute, as she figured she shouldn't push her luck too far in the first five minutes.

@hxney @Slushie Birchpelt padded up to the leader "Duskstar, Buckbranch" the queen said with a slight bow. "Now that all my kits have become apprentices may I become a warrior once more?" The tabby said looking up to the leader and the deputy, they would either discuss this among themselves or the leader would give her an answer right away
