Coming home

This is the part 2 of Stem’s Legventure . At this point Stempaw’s stump is mostly healed and she’s escaped the twoleg place and traveling along a dirt road by a river on her journey back to Shadowclan. She can’t fight or hunt really because she hasn’t adapted to missing a back leg.

Stempaw awoke in the makeshift nest she had set up to find a snake hissing near her. She was pretty hungry and was desperate so she attempted to hunt it. She used her right frontpaw trying to strike the snake, but she messed up and instead angered the snake. She gave a growl still flailing to fight the snake as it bit her ankle she angrily swatted at it getting frustrated that she couldn’t kill it,” help“ she called out knowing no one would help her, but she wasn’t quite ready to flee and give up no getting the snake for food.

Grey was stomping back to his den, when he heard a cry. Bounding forward, he slashed his claws through the enraged snake, killing it. Are you alright? he asked, trying to bolster the young she-cat to her feet. You should know not to mess with snakes, shouldn't you? @Zesty Mango

Stempaw sighed,” I’ll be alright. The bite isn’t bad. I know not to, but I was hungry, and snakes are food.“ she explained. She forced herself not to start eating it while the stranger was talking to her.

You sure? That snake could have a nasty bite, like rats. Why don't you come home with me? he suggested, shoving the snake a bit closer to her. But first, eat. @Zesty Mango

Stempaw gave a nod in hunger before taking a bite of the snake, it wasn’t the most pleasant prey, but it was something to eat, and that was important to her. Once she finished eating she gave a small nod, realizing he was right,” Alright.“ she meowed hoping that wouldn’t take her further away from home, but she needed to deal with that bite or it could get infected especially since she didn’t have a medicine cat to treat her wounds.

Come on then. Grey mewed, stooping a bit so she could lean on him. Just got to get you back home, and figure out what to do with you. he grunted, unknowingly turning towards Shadowclan territory, and moving off. @Zesty Mango

Stempaw reminded herself of her tiredness and let herself lean against the tom. Frankly she was relieved that he was going in the direction she was traveling. She still had a few days travel to go, but at least she wasn’t going further from home. She began to walk along side him towards his home wherever that was.

Stopping in front of his den, a cozy hole in a bramble thicket, reinforced and lined with moss, Grey let the other cat slide off. It's not much, but it's home. he mewed, and realized something. I'm Grey by the way. What might your name be? @Zesty Mango

Stempaw glanced at the tom thrilled he wasn’t a kittypet,” I’m Stempaw.” she replied. She probably should have used a loner name out here, but she didn’t. She wasn’t sure what to do with her bite really, it wasn’t bleeding but it could get infected. What was it that Irisflame used for infections? She couldn’t remember, but she’d rinse it with water.

Nice to meet you Stempaw. Grey mewed, bounding away. Returning moments later with a wad of moss, he spread it into a small nest outside the den. Leaving once again, her brought back a second wad, soaked in tree-water. Exiting the clearing for a final time, he returned with a collection of leaves, with a sharp, tangy scent. Roll in these he instructed, spreading them on the ground. We always use them for rat bites. I'm not sure if they'll work on snake, but it's worth a shot. The pungent smell of the wild garlic floated through the air, encompassing the clearing. @Zesty Mango
