Whitesong furrowed his brow. Coyotepaw had been silent the whole way back. Maybe he should have taken the time to bring his apprentice home. Twilightstar would have understood. He would have to tell her that Coyotepaw had been in the battle, but that tugged at him. He didn’t want the excitable apprentice to get in even more trouble.

He turned to his apprentice, brow furrowed. “I don’t think it will be necessary to ask Twilightstar for a punishment. I will be telling her you were at the battle though.” He paused to rasp his tongue over the small injuries he had received. “Our next lesson will be in camp. The elder’s don’t get much attention, and young cats need to be keen on respecting the cats that deserve it.” He softened. “Are you alright, Coyotepaw? Was the battle too much for you?”

You always guard her, but if you always hide her away from everybody, she's going to end up fearing anything unknown and turn into a complete coward. And you say your job is to toughen her up. Smiling at Quiverpaw’s concern, Heathernose nodded and promised to take it easy. They soon reached a spot perfect for hunting and Heathernose stopped, turning to Quiverpaw with a small smile and listening to Quiv explain her experience.

Quiverpaw dropped into a tentative hunting crouch, trying to remember how she had done it when she had been on her own for those few moons. It had been a while and she hadn't learned from a professional in the first place, so there were a few adjustments that she could make. While it had been functional then, there was always improvement to be had.

(You can come up with anything wrong that you want to adjust, I'm personally too lazy to come up with something atm)
