Ebonypaw raised his tail so it was a little bit above the ground. "Am I doing it right?" he asked the warriors. He was impatient to get to the real stuff.

It wasn't long before he caught the scent of rodent. Field mice, perfect! Small prey was wonderful for getting started. They could work their way up to bigger things later on. He dropped into a hunting crouch and gestured for Amberpaw to drop to the ground.

"Show me your hunting crouch. Mimic my stance and I'll correct you, ok?" he meowed in a lowered voice.

She crouched, trying to mimic his crouch, but not exactly succeeding. Her tail was waving around wildly, and her crouch wasn’t quite right. “Is this good”, she whispered.

"No questions, comments, or smart remarks?" he meowed, glancing between them and offering one more opportunity to speak up, "Right then, come on."

Sootflare led the way into the tunnels, winding his way through various dark and damp passages before finally arriving the basin that Lionstar had picked out long before. He could still see where his stick had been stuck up into the roof before, marked by the light shining through around the edges, and padded over.

"This is the direction we want to dig." he mewed, gesturing to his marker, "We're not terribly far from the river so we need to be careful not do dig directly into it. We'll start down here and once we're close enough, we'll work on connecting it from the surface. Let's get started."

He set to work on carving out the tunnel without waiting for a response. He figured they could work in shifts if this went on for very long and, if all else failed, they could return to camp for the night and return in the morning to continue.

Basilpaw padded after her mentor. She was on a hunting patrol! Awesome! "Nope!" she said, then shuddered. "There aren't any rats down there, are there?" she asked. Basilpaw REALLY didn't like rats. Nu-uh, nope. @Bramblefire01

"no, but cave in's happen. We need to review the safety rules and calls before entering". Said Rushingwind. "If the walls begin to tremble, get out imediatly. If we get separated, find the nearest clearing. If we find an unknown animal, get behind me." Said Rushingwind. "Now, lets go!" And we walked into the darkness.

Basilpaw hesitated a moment at the edge of the darkness, before padding after her mentor. She glanced around at the sides of the tunnels. "Are we the only clan with tunnels?" Basilpaw asked. Tunnels seemed like something that was meant for a different clan other than riverclan. They could swim! They didn't need to go underground!

Basilpaw brought her mind back. They were on hunting patrol. Right. Hunting. How does one do that again? She opened her mouth, to smell for prey. She was referring back to the smell the food in the fresh kill pile smelled like, so she wasn't likely to get very far. @Bramblefire01

"Windclan has them too". Rushingwind whispered to control the echo. He then swiped his tial over his apprentices mouth, telling her to be quiet. He then left it on her shoulder, to lead her to Riverclans old camp clearing. When they arrived, they saw a bunch of old, ragged dens, mouse holes, and, whats this?, A family of voles crossing through!? At the sight of the 5 little creatures passing through, Rushingwind had to stiffle a laugh. He then signaled to Bazilpaw it was time to hunt, and crouched ready to leap.

Basilpaw quieted down when Rushingwind put his tail on her face. She watched as a bunch of little voles walked across the clearing. Just like that! Without a care in the world! Basilpaw watched Rushingwind crouch down and mimiced him as best she could, crouching down to the ground, feet spread out so as to be steady, tail level. @Bramblefire01

Then Rushingwind pounced, langing on 2, and scaring 2 away, and 1 towards Bazilpaw. "Get it!" He called to her, then finished off the 2 beneath him.
