Oh dear. He appeared to have offended her, judging by her reaction. He supposed he could see why. She probably didn't want to much help. His suspicions were quickly confirmed when she asked to catch HIM something. His first impulse was to refuse, tell her she didn't need to help him. He could handle himself fine. But..........that was how SHE had probably felt. No, refusing wouldn't do.
Against his impulse, he purred softly.
If.......you really wanted to I wouldn't be.....opposed to hunting with you? Cautiously, cautiously. He didn't want to get to pushy. But he thought he had worded it well enough. He hadn't said SHE had to hunt for him, or that he would hunt for her. Together seemed......fairer. And he would probably enjoy it a bit more. She did seem like a nice enough cat. Relaxing back onto his haunches, he waited for her decision, keenly aware that she might want him to leave. Which he didn't particularly want to do now that he thought about it. @
