Chris paid up. He sensed something was up about this program. Something. He shook it off and began walking away. He had his baton in his hand and stepped out of the garage. Time to report to Pavel. Chris wasn't looking forward to it.

"Where is that tender-footed soldier when we really need him?" The greasy-haired commander complained, arms crossed behind his back. He paced in front of a grounded recognizer, which had landed not too far from Able's garage.

Chris rode to the recognizer. He put his bike in baton form, and stepped inside. "Sir, I'm back." Chris was not looking forward to this talk at all. "Sir, there was no report of the missing program. The program was nowhere to be seen." Chris had a small note sheet from before in his hands. "I have suspicion that the program is in the garage nearby ." He did have some suspicion that the program was below, but it wasn't solid evidence. "Sir?" Chris knew that Pavel was the one to wait, and yell. Lots of yelling. He prepared himself for a lecture by the commander.

"What makes you think I'm going to want to hear that, soldier?" The commander didn't turn to face him; only paused in his tracks. "I could care less about the stupid girl. What I want to know is why you can't do your job." He resumed pacing, waiting for a desperate plea for another chance, maybe an excuse, anything. He was mad, alright. Not because of the missing soldier, but because of the missing half of... well, that was confidential information.

(you've seen Price of Power, I assume you know what he's after...)

Chris had some small suspicion of it. He hoped not. Amber was a good girl, she didn't get herself in trouble. Chris hoped not. He looked out the window of the recognizer. "Sir, what is going on down there?" Chris pointed down to a tussle between some citizens and soldiers.

You are in for it big time. He didn't want to make Pavel anymore angrier. "May I get out of your sight now, sir? He kept on walking back.

I don't see what would prompt you to think the Renegade's hiding in the Outlands, but if you would be so bold as to stay a nanocycle longer, I'll personally see to it you're sent to the Games!" He spun on his heel, orange-lined coattails accentuating the gesture. "Someone get me a glass of energy; I'm parched." He directed this at the others nearby, not to the soldier who (he hoped) was leaving.
