Marigoldpaw watched out of the corner of her eyes as Shrikepaw emerged out of the shadows. She hadn’t seen her brother for awhile and she felt sweet relief that he hadn’t abandoned Shadowclan or gotten killed. Of course she’d never tell him she was glad that he was safe. No way! Was Adderfang competent....yes! Wait...what did that word mean? Meh Adderfang probably was I mean she was smart and stuff.

Shrikepaw gave a small hiss of jealousy. Of course Marigoldpaw got lucky but then again that was how it was with his sister, Shrikepaw himself probably couldn't manage the spotlight she seemed to relish it so maybe it was for the best. "Lucky you then, you better get a battle training session soon so we can do our rematch of that last scuffle in the nursery. Im gonna shred your pelt this time if you dont get good." He teased a challenging gleam to his eyes. If there was ever one way of kicking off another round of good natured sibling rivalry it was to poke at his sisters battle obsession, which he gleefully took advantage of. "You may be growing to be the size of a dog but thats not everything, Im gonna win next time." The (once) runt wasn't actually that small anymore, having grown to be about the average size of a cat his age, of course this was dwarfed by the much bigger Marigoldpaw but she wasn't the runt of the little of two.
