Chris made sure that Mara was down by slamming her in the head with his staff. He decided to "check out" the faculty room. He didn't see anything worthwhile, so he went back to knocking out Jaran. You darn ISOs, always disobeying the rules. Chris got his staff ready for combat.

He made sure that the Renegade was knocked out. Before I knocked you out, you should know that I drove a disc in the Renegade's arm." Chris said, before raising his staff further up.

Chris drove his staff down, but didn't see the handcuffs. The staff broke the handcuffs. He didn't know it in time. He thought that Mara was knocked out, and went over to the Renegade. He made sure that he was still knocked out and turned around.

Mara jumped up in a flash, and in a fluid motion took hold of the firewall's lightbike. Stepping on the pedal, she swerved into the street in a cloud of dust, clutching Beck's arm so he wouldn't fall.
(Sorry @Stardustt , kinda left you to fend for yourself there)

"Damn it!" Chris used his disc, and cut some lightcycles from above down. He got on one and followed Mara. He pulled out his gun and aimed at the Renegade. Now he was driving. And driving ain't that smooth. He tried to aim at the Renegade while driving, but that ain't easy. So he drove closer to Mara.

Jaran watched Mara leave before knocking down the firewall, he grabbed the Renegade's lightcycle and drove off. He left the firewall there, of course. He followed Mara.
(Wait she has Beck, right?)

The she-program activated her light ribbon, attempting to lose him in the tight alleyways. She knew the streets well- and while she didn't race as much as her friends Beck and Zed did, she was an exceptional lightcyclist anyhow.
