Swallowkit had not expected the pain and the kit let out a wail of distress, as the pain registered with her brain and it was out of pure instinct that her paw reached up and then proceeded to slap the medicine cat across the face. Of course without claws or anything, just a tiny paw slapping a big head. "It HURTS!" she couldn't help it! It was PAINFUL! and her leg was not happy. She thought they'd meant to make her leg happy again not make it even LESS happy! That... that was a BETRAYAL! Could she keep this cat for betraying her? Would that be acceptable? Like... keep her to prevent her betraying others. It made logic to Swallowkit and helped distract her from the pain her leg was in. Okay. it wasn't as crooked as it was before but it didn't mean the pain was any less! It still.... HURT! and she wanted it to be fixed. Fixey. Fixey fixey fixed. And then she did exactly what she'd literally just been told not to do and lifted the leg and slapped it down on the ground and despite the pain, from which she still was sobbing tiny tears over, she looked over to Buckstar and then back to the medicine cat. "No. it Hurts."

Buckstar surveyed the small crowd with narrowed eyes. Not many cats... actually, maybe this was okay. Maybe this was good. Then Frostbreeze couldn't get pissy about not getting enough attention, which he knew she was likely to do.

Actually, she was going to complain either way. With a few labored breaths, and ignoring the irritated looks on some of his Clanmates' faces (he knew it was early, he could see the orange glow lighting the tree tops, but he really wanted to get this out of the way), he stepped forward.

"As everyone should already know, Lionwhisker has been missing for quite some time. He left ThunderClan shortly after his apprentice did, essentially leaving us with no medicine cat. Thankfully, Coldamber has settled in with us for a few days, but it's important that we decide on someone else before she leaves.

"Last night, Coldamber received a vision from the stars about our new medicine cat. And..." Another deep breath as he attempted to control his own frustration. "And, they have decided on Frostbreeze [ @Zesty Mango ]."

He fixed a blank look on the she-cat, as if he were talking directly to her instead of the rest of the Clan. "She will be in charge of healing and herb storage. If Lionwhisker ever returns to us, he'll be teaching her some of the basics, but of course, she can always ask for assistance from the other Clans. I expect her to do her job, and I expect it to do it well."

With that, he sat back to allow a few cats to offer their congratulations before he would move on.
