Paige exhaled deeply and sat in the alleyway, back pressed against the building behind her.

Why couldn't she do it?

ISOs weren't programs.

Glitches, errors, viruses, even.

Barely more than a gridbug scuttling across the floor.

And yet... she couldn't bring herself to derez him.

She chalked it up to her lack of energy, and just rested there, helmet rezzing over her face, knees drawn up to her chest.

Paige faltered for a moment. "He was harming an innocent soldier for... for some reason, I don't know exactly why, but... torture. You saw it yourself, General. He's been running these tests under your nose for who knows how long, and what is it going to lead to? You've seen Pavel's devices." she lowered her voice, so that the commander in question wouldn't hear. "He could be plotting to destroy you by turning your own soldiers against you."

Pavel had some soldiers to back up his defense. They all said that Pavel was in the clear. Pavel said that he knew nothing about these devices, and he had the proof. "How come you know this much sbout the experiments? Are you doing them yourself?! Is that how you know so much?! Because you're the one doing them!" Pavel said. He knew Paige was very nervous. Paige couldn't keep this up.

Chris attempted to get Amber's disc, but he couldn’t do it while holding her entire body. He didn't say anything else. He was to nervous. He began to walk back to the helicopter.

Tesler growled. "This isn't big enough of a problem to concern me. Just drop the issue."

Paige half-heartedly responded, "It's on the outskirts of Argon. Almost on the border of Pergos."

"You. Firewall." He pointed at Chris with one massive hand. "What do you make of these two? Which one seems more believable to you?" He wasn't asking for advice because he needed it, or even wanted it. He was only curious to hear what Paige's little accomplice had to say.
