"Just a beta. He was on the run a minute ago. Thanks to your friends, he's probably going to have permanent PTSD." Mara folded her arms. She knew Vernal likely wasn't to blame, but she was still pretty ticked off.

Mara laughed a little. "It's been fine, really. Nothing super out-of-the-ordinary." She messed around with the customizations a little bit. She was always one for personalization.

Her muscles tensed a bit " its Not my fault- I...." the firewall just sighed . Great - why were they chasing him?! "Why were they chasing him? He's just a beta..not like he could've done anything wrong.."

Callum inched out only to be wide eyed "m-monster! Get her out of here! " he whined . Why was a firewall talking to blue hair lady?!

Vernal just gave him a glare , did he just? Wait...something inside her clicked though.. Like it was telling her that he shouldn't be there.

"Something is wrong," Mara spat. "This poor beta was being chased through the streets."

"Vernal wouldn't do that!" Zed protested, looking appalled.

Her eyes flickered a bit, until she saw Zed... Then she looked back at Callum. The Beta however was confused as to what was going on..he was still intimidated though .

The firewall couldnt control her movements - her hand grabbed her katana slowly as if she was trying to fight it . "g-... G-get him ..out of here...now!" she warned .

"Why? What's--" Mara noticed a flash of light on Callum's upper left arm. An ISO. That's why Vernal must be--

She didn't bother to finish the thought. She activated her lightcycle, took Callum by the arm, sat him on the bike behind her, and took off.

Callum on the other hand yelped "w-whats happening ?!" he squeaked

Zed grabbed Vernal by the arm as Mara and Callum made their escape. Not that he knew Callum was an ISO-- if he did, he'd have stopped Mara in her tracks and demanded she hand the ISO over. Zed was mainly concerned that a newly-compiled program was being ruthlessly hunted by the firewall soldiers of Argon.

"I'm saving your life," Mara said as her helmet rezzed over her face. "No need to thank me, but you can if you want-- I won't be upset."

Who dare try to stop her?! She gave a growl only to give another at Zed "let . Me. GO! " she growled. Her voice was distorted and a bit darker then normal. She had a job to do. If he wasn't gonna let her go peacefully shed fight him.

Mara and Callum were far enough away for Zed to unhand her, so he did. The sudden change in her voice and disposition unsettled him. "Vernal-- what's wrong with you?!" he panted, genuinely terrified.

The firewall huffed as he let go only to yank her hand away "Nothings wrong with me. I'm Perfect- I'm doing what needs to be done " she stated . Looking at the street , the two couldn't be seen. This caused her to kick the ground only for that - thing inside her to turn off causing her eyes to go back to normal . now she was just..motionless as if she was rebooting .

"I dont like them..." he replied and looked behind them " all firewalls just wanna derezz me- " he mumbled to himself . "where are we now?"
