The tom was washing his coarse pelt when Breezefather called his name. Again?? With a grunt, the apprentice stood up. Ooh... battle patrol, eh? He could beat up Quailfur! Hehehe. That warrior would feel his revenge for undermining him and babying him. Just then, he heard Shockholly — oh, cool. "Let’s get this over with," he huffed. "Oh, and I wanna take on Quailfur." He added with a small wink. Oooh, he was looking forward to this.

Dimtail side-eyed Nightpaw as he reported his herb patrol. It seemed the other two hadn't come back. Well, at least the two of them reported back.
"Hey Coldamber, Snailswirl!"
Dimtail called to the two medicine cats.
"We split up temperarolly to cover more ground, but the other two didn't report back to the meeting place. Nightpaw here," he gestured to his apprentice, "Ran back to camp prematurely." Ah, well.

The tabby cat barely heard the warriors words. They couldn’t help but stare at the precious herbs that would get them through leaf-bare. Through this Greencough... thing. Shaking their pelt out, they gave Dimtail a nod. "Thank! Thank you guys. This helps out a lot — I’ll try my best to put in a good word with Twilightstar about this." With that, they quickly grabbed the bundle and trotted back to the den. This was amazing! Ah, Maybe most of the cats hadn’t returned, but whew!! This was still good.

But talking to Twilightstar about a potential other place seemed good and not that the medicine cat apprentice needed his permission, he still gave a nod and rose up to stand again, "If you want I'll go with you, depending on Twilightstar's stance on it, I'll see if I can get some cats to set up a small quarantine area where there is a proper shelter and the other cats can rest securely." And then, resting his tail on they younger cat's back he voiced, "You're doing a good job, just make sure you're taking care of yourself too and not getting sick."

Were they that visibly stressed?? The whole Greencough thing was an absolute nightmare, especially at the beginning of leafbare — the very beginning! Like, not the end, or even the middle?? Come on, Greencough! And the patrols they had sent out only barely returned. They were satisfied with thei catmint numbers for bow, but what about later???

Oh, Stars! They were stressed!!

They visibly relaxed at the deputy’s words. "Oh, oh yes. That would be... yeah. That would be nice. Yes. We should go, like now—" they chartered, beginning to stand before feeling a slight pressure. Oh. Snail let out an exhausted breath that they hadn’t even realized they’d been holding in. Green eyes shining with emotion, they nodded. "Let’s go talk to Twilightstar," they said, voice quaking but no longer from stress. This was something that had to be done, and Breezefeather had their back.

Shockholly gave a very big, very stupid grin at Bushpaw's confidence in his ability to take on a full warrior. They headed out to the territory, hoping the other three were right behind them.
Technically, since this was training, there wasn't a patrol leader per se, but since the others had only just responded, it made them de facto a sort of lead position.
Or..... something.
