Frog paw could feel shrewpaws breathing, slow and steady but shrewpaw was mad he could tell “ I’m not blaming it on you” frogpaw said as calm as he could backing up, shrewpaw was older and knew more than he did, he went easy last time frogpaws mentor hadn’t trained him so that made it worse, “ shrewpaw I don’t want to be ruthless I just want to prove I’m not a scrony worthless weakling like everybody says I am”

Shrewpaw felt a rather inopportune stab of empathy for Frogpaw, he had been working for so long to prove the same thing, to prove that he was worthy of being a warrior, and to keep his family safe. Because he felt that if he did well enough......somehow anything they did would be alright. Blackhaze..........he had died. Foggybrook had gone missing. Who else did he have? It was just Ebonyfang now, and maybe Marigoldpaw and Shrikepaw who were his friends. His mind was more confused than normal, he didn't know what to do. All that came out was a strangled Prove it. before he leapt, claws sheathed, at Frogpaw, aiming to perhaps use momentum to bowl the slightly larger apprentice over. It was more of a practice, sparring leap than anything, but his voice might cause it to be misinterpreted. @feather lily

Frogpaw moved to the side and swiped, he didn’t know many moves so at this point he was just mashing moves together “ I’ll prove it to the entire clan if I have to! “ he said with a hiss. What was shrewpaw thinking! He thought, he started to hate this cat more and more

Ducking what he regarded as a fairly clumsy swipe, Shrewpaw pressed forward, aiming one paw at Frogpaw's legs, and the other at his back, in an attempt to knock him to the ground. As he swung his paws, he grunted out You won't have to prove it to the whole clan. Just to Dawnstar. And if she says you're good, everyone will believe her. At least he thought so, he hoped so. He hoped that once he became the first warrior in a long time, he had noticed the lack of ceremonies for them lately, his family and friends would be protected. @feather lily

“ then I’ll prove it to her!” He said moving one leg but not the other. He tripped losing his balance and falling. He got up fast not wanting what happened last time to happen again because this time shrewpaw wouldn’t stop there, at least that’s what frogpaw thought. He leaped at shrewpaw going for the head but actually trying to get the paws

Good! I plan to do that too. And become a warrior. And keep everyone I care about safe. Shrewpaw added mentally, aiming a failed blow at the downed Frogpaw that whistled by the other tom harmlessly. Moving his head to the side, he was unprepared for the attack on his paws, which brought at least his front ones down to the ground. Pivoting quickly, he kicked out strongly with his hind paws as he got to his feet, hoping that he might have gotten Frogpaw far enough away from him for some re-grouping time. @feather lily

Frogpaw was pushed back as he got up he looked a shrewpaw “ I could do this all day!” He hissed running at him full speed. He didn’t know what his goal was now shrewpaw seemed to understand him yet hate him? Frogpaw wanted to prove he wasn’t some low life cat without family because they all died or left befor he could remember them
