Oh boy, word of the clans even reached this far? That was pretty impressive. "Yeah, I was born in Shadowclan. My warrior name was Ivyshade. You're kinda right, the other cats did call me a softie, but they're not that bad. They raised me right and did their jobs, and no one can complain about that." Ivy always felt she was a bit different than the other cats. As a kit, she questioned nothing, as kits do. As an apprentice, she witnessed her patrol driving off a pregnant she-cat who clearly needed help, kickstarting her desire for change. As a warrior, she left, and told no one she was leaving. She had no siblings and her mother didn't care for her, so why would she say anything? Plenty of cats went missing all the time and no one seemed to care, so she didn't make a big fuss about leaving.

I hope Kiwi sticks around. We could become friends and see the world together, I wonder what I could show her that's close to here tomorrow. Wait. Ivy looked at her wrecked leg and realized something bad. Kiwi's pregnant and vulnerable. It's easy to protect myself with this useless leg but she won't be able to fight as her pregnancy progresses? How could I defend the both of us? I could tell her to leave...No. I can't do that. That's horrible!

Why was Ivy so attached to Kiwi already? Ugh. This is why Shadowclan called me a softie, always wanting to help everyone. So what if they're right. No, no, there was no way Ivy would abandon Kiwi. She would just have to figure out how to do things with a friend. "What about the kits? Have you thought of names? Is there a way to tell how many there'll be?" Remembering her warrior days, Ivy once watched the medicine cat check a pregnant queen, and was able to tell how many kits she would have. Ivy didn't know how to do that, but maybe Kiwi did?

I guess ShadowClan cats aren’t that mean. she thought to herself.
Then hearing the questions Ivy had asked, she replied.
”I’m not sure about names yet,” Kiwi answered. ”And I believe there is a way to tell, but I’m not that experienced.” she let out a small laugh.
This question made her realize she needed names, however. She could name one after their father. But their father was a bit of a jerk. She didn’t want her kit being named after a cat like that. Maybe she could name one after herself, like Kiwi Jr.?
No, that’s dumb. she passed the idea by.
“Now that I think of it, I haven’t had many ideas on names. Do you have any suggestions?” she ticked her head and looked at Ivy.

"Maybe after a bird, or a plant? What does the father look like, because if the father is white furred, for example, you wouldn't name a white kit 'Night.'" If Kiwi was going to take her suggestions seriously, Ivy figured she should be serious.

”The father was rather dark,” she mewed. “It could be light brown like me, though. So maybe a black or brown kit.”
Kiwi licked her paw for a brief moment.
“I have a feeling their pelts are gonna be dark.”
She took a moment to think about Ivy’s suggestions. A dark.. bird. A raven!
“I can’t think of any dark plants, but a raven would work.” her eyes shone at the name.
Raven seemed like a pretty name. She could imagine it on a black kit, her kit.

Ooh, Raven was a cool name! "Ravens are apparently pretty smart birds. I heard that somewhere but I don't remember where." Thinking about more names, she brainstormed about dark colored things. Coal, Soot, Crow, Night, Beetle...Wait. Night sounds pretty good. "If you're going for dark color names, what about Midnight?"

She thought about the name.
Midnight.. That was a pretty name.
”It’s nice. I’ll think about it.” she smiled.
For a second she stared at the she-cat awkwardly, then looked outside. It was sundown.
”Should we get some sleep?” she asked the she-cat.

"Yeah, It's getting late. I have some extra moss if you want to make a nest." Ivyshade stretched before circling around to lay down. Why was she trusting Kiwi so much? Maybe her loneliness was clouding her judgement. She started to doze off. @Minty

She nodded at Ivy, taking a look at the moss. She arranged it into a comfortable nest for herself, then curled up. Kiwi tucked her nose under her paws, and wrapped her tail around her body. Taking a breath to calm herself into resting, she mewed quietly,
”Good night.”

Ivy did the cat mrrp and woke up. The sun was streaming into the den, and there were birds singing outside. A perfectly lovely morning...wait. Ivy silently freaked out at the strange cat in her den. Oh, it's just Kiwi. Being half asleep made her confused. Pregnant queens need a lot of sleep, I shouldn't wake her up. I guess I'll catch breakfast and come back. Ivy left the den to find something to eat.

Kiwi’s ear twitched at the sounds of the morning. Sun shining, birds tweeting, the breeze running. She slowly got up and let out a yawn. At first she didn’t recognize the den she was in, but soon remembered it was that she-cat’s.. Ivy, or at least that’s what she thought.
Speaking of Ivy, where is she? she wondered.
Her nest was empty, but her scent was fresh. Probably out doing something. Kiwi re-arranged her nest slightly, then looked around the den. It was small, but homey. She walked around, observing things while she waited.

Ivy felt much better about her hunting prospects than yesterday, bringing in 2 rabbits for breakfast. Ducking under the moss hanging in the front, Ivy noticed Kiwi was already up. "Hi, I hope you like rabbits." @Minty
