Lightningpaw jumped. "You-" He was cut off by his new mentor's instructions. He looked at his rock, then sat down, wriggling in excitement. He was hardly able to keep his mouth shut like Stonenettle said. It was so awesome! All of this was so awesome! Then he spotted his bestest bestest bestest bestest bestest bestest bestest bestest friend, and somehow got more excited. "Hi, Flamepaw!" he mewed, forgetting what Stonenettle ordered him to do. @Slushie @Estelle

“Goslingkit! Lightning kit! Light kit! Tawnykit!” Forestpaw called out giving each of the new apprentices a welcoming smile. She would enjoy extra company in the apprentices den, perhaps she might even befriend one of the younger cats! Who knew?

Thankfully, Buckstar had obliged his silent wish and Wrenkit’s aching paws got a rest on the way to the medicine den. Once they were there, he peered blearily at the cats, trying to see if he recognized them; the older one looked familiar but neither looked like the medicine cat from when Wrenkit was last here. To be honest, he didn’t really care as long as he didn’t have to do anything and the small tortoiseshell sat down heavily, swaying like a reed in the wind.

When it came to the actual checking for sickness, Wrenkit wanted to help. He didn’t technically know what was wrong with him, but he could point the older cat- Rainywhisker, Buckstar had said- to where he felt gross. That was going to be a lot of pointing. First off, Wren lifted a paw and showed off his cracked and sore pads from the moons of walking on hard surfaces. He sniffled and coughed, clearly sick with something. Aside from that he just felt tired and like he might pass out but there was no way to really show them that.

Mothmask watched Lightpaw slink off. Hmph. She thought. Still a child, I see.
She stood up, and exited Thunderwillow, slipping out into the forest for some lunch.

"What did I just say?" Stonenettle snapped. "Be quiet and pay attention, or I'll have you on camp duty for the first moon of your apprenticeship. Is that you want, kit?" Great skies, he was going to have his paws full, wasn't he? First some broken-legged stranger that left almost immediately, and now a seemingly hyper, deaf baby. Wonderful.

"I think you said-" Lightningpaw was cut off again by his mentor. But he had another question to answer. "Not really. What's camp duty?" He was going to say he thought Stonenettle said to be quiet and watch the meeting, but he wasn't sure. It didn't matter anyways, because he'd been so rudely interrupted. He looked at his rock again, then back to Flamepaw. Maybe when the meeting was over, he'd get to say hi to Flamepaw! And then go train! @Slushie

Ah, more apprentices to add to the mix. Briefly, Badgerleaf thought back to her own apprentice ceremony, how the cheers of the other cats had filled her with the courage to actually step forward and receive her apprentice name. Her training had definitely been a journey - one with lots of ups and even more downs - but in the end, it had been worth it to receive her warrior name. Though part of her still wondered about the -leaf part. Shaking herself back to the present moment, the molly chanted alongside her Clanmates. "Eaglepaw! Lightpaw! Tawnypaw! Lightningpaw! Goslingpaw!"

While the attention of the Clan had shifted to congratulating the new apprentices, Applekit couldn't tear her gaze away from the newly named Falconglare. A new warrior! Someone else to answer all her questions! Not giving it a second thought, the tortie dashed over to where the molly was, breathless by the time she arrived. "Falcon...glare. That's such... a cool name!' Taking a breath between each word, the young kit stared up at the older she-cat, eyes round with awe and admiration.
( @ghostwriter i figured this would be a cute lil mini interaction since she's apple's future mentor ^^)

So far, so good. He had, what, two more things to get through? Then he could be done, and could take a nap.

"Moving on to mentor assignments. It's come to my attention that some of your mentors have gone missing, and I figured I might as well get that fixed. So.

Lionpaw[ @bmkmb ], I'm pairing you with Kestrelflame [ @Fuzzy ]. Valleypaw [ @Zero ], you'll be with Spiderlily [ @Panda1440 ]. Brightpaw [ @gs29513 ], I'm assigning you to Jayclaw [ @Sorrow ], and Singepaw [ @Puddle~ ], you'll be with Eveningmist [ @Mumble ]."

"Final thing. Lionblaze and Jaypaw were attacked by a mother coyote with her cubs the other day. They may still be around. Apprentices, this is already a rule, but as a general reminder, you should not be out of camp without a warrior. Kits, you shouldn't be out of camp at all. Understood? Good. This meeting is dismissed."

Buckstar leaped down from his perch and approached Gravelblaze and Driftsong.

"Thunderchaser [ @~Fox~ ], Badgerleaf [ @spade ], Thrushheart [ @Funtime Foxy ], will you three please help me bring them to Firefly Cove?"

She had a new mentor? Well, not much was new there then. Taking a step towards the cat that had been assigned to her, Jayclaw, Brightpaw mewed happily Hi! I'm Brightpaw. How are you? I am well! I know SOME stuff, but not a lot of other stuff. And maybe you could teach me that stuff? she suggested, her fur puffing up in excitement. Maybe it wasn't as not exciting as she had thought originally. She was actually pretty pumped about a new mentor, since training was enjoyable. @Sorrow
