~after cowtail was attacked she couldn't help but feel bad for the guy. She knows he attacked her but he had to have done it for a reason. Was she rude? Was she annoying she had no idea. And now he was going to die from it. As tears filled her eyes she couldn't help but see flashing images of beetle paw. They were forced she didn't want to see them. But she had. Cowtail felt her scar and kept having tears hit the snow~

"Cedarkit." Fixing his tone into something as gentle as possible, he crouched down so he was eye-level with her. "You're not going to get in trouble if you tell me. They shouldn't have left you out here in the freezing cold in the first place - you could have frozen to death! I just- I need to know so I can make sure they know not to do that again." Although, really, it should have been plain common sense from the very beginning.

Both eyebrows shot up, and a frown plastered itself onto his muzzle. "Uh-huh. Right. In the short couple of days that had passed, he'd had to deal with two sudden deaths, two violent outbursts, and one mouthy, potentially traitorous apprentice. His patience was shot through, and he wasn't too keen on dealing with a liar on top of all of it. "You've got one chance. One more untruth and you're out of here."

Buckstar turned to face her, eyes flashing with surprise and a hint of grief. "Uh, yeah, sure. Of course. I'll make sure to get that situated." It was clear to him what the last part of her name was meant to symbolize, but of course he had no objections to it. Deerstride was (or was it now 'had been'?) her mate, after all. "Uh, yeah, absolutely. Come on, camp's this way." He started off again.

Icepaw laughed a little "no dad I'm fine! these scratches are just from bushes" grinning she pressed against him again happy to breathe in his scent and feel his warmth against her.

"Okay. You sure? As long as you're safe." He pressed his nose to the top of her head before pulling back again. "Why don't you get something to eat, and take some time to rest? Maybe see Rainywhisker if you think you need to, and I'll be around here if you need me, okay?" Somewhere really close by, in case she wandered off again.

"You're right, it wouldn't," he replied. "There's cats back at camp who care for you very much, and I'm sure they've been missing you. Home's back this way - follow me." He nodded in the direction he had been talking about and set off that way, at a pace Smokekit would be able to match.

Buckstar gave Echofall a brief once-over, searching for any injuries, and then nodded. "Awesome, thank you. I'm glad you aren't hurt, but feel free to go see Rainywhisker if you think you need to. I'll make sure Gravehound's courage is well-recognized at the next Gathering."

Amberglow made her way back to camp. Half of the prey she and Pinefang had caught dangled from her mouth as she walked into the clearing. She'd hoped that the other cat hadn't dropped the rest of their prey, otherwise that'd be a bummer. Not to mention, she got weird vibes from her. She carefully set the prey down in the fresh-kill pile before walking over to report back.

"Hello. Our hunt out at the grove was a success; we caught multiple preys, which we already set in the fresh-kill pile."

Buckstar peered over Amberglow at the prey she'd just dropped off before offering a small smile. "That's great! You and Pinefang are free to take a break, if you'd like."

The fluffy warrior deposited her prey, a few plump prey animals. The fresh taste of meat lingered in her mouth, making her stomach rumble. She was certainly going to have to eat something afterwards, maybe a fresh squirrel! Mmmm. "Flamepaw and I are back! We caught some prey, and I'm hoping Flamepaw knows more about hunting now." There wasn't anything else to report, really. So, Marigoldfire dipped her head and trotted over to the pile, quickly examining it before grabbing a squirrel. Yum...

"Awesome." He gave Marigoldfire a bright grin. "Let Flamepaw know that I think she's doing great!"

Lionblaze limped back in, leaning heavily on his apprentice Jaypaw's shoulder. "We ran into a mother coyote!" He stammered. "The cubs ran across the border, and they were old enough to cause trouble and lvie alone, but the mother stayed!" He gasped. The golden tom had several deep cuts and bites and he had one eye slit, and a cut down his neck, small but dangerous.

The familiar sting of copper in his nose made the fur on the back of Buckstar's neck prickle, and he raised his head to squint at the camp's entrance. Concern pushed at the back of his mind. It certainly smelled like too much blood to be something minor.

When he finally caught a good glimpse of the state Lionblaze was in, his eyes flew wide open and he hurried to meet the tom and his apprentice halfway, looking panicked. "Great StarClan, Lionblaze! Go see Rainywhisker, don't stand here talking to me! If Jaypaw's hurt too, then that goes for both of you! If I had known there were coyotes around I wouldn't have sent you over that way- oh, I'm so sorry." The golden tom looked like he'd been shredded. "I'll let everyone else know about the coyotes - go get patched up!"
