Ravenkit’s retort did little to get under Sablekit’s fur. She’d merely repeated what he said and he took that as an easy victory- not that many things got under his skin anyway. Sable didn’t blow up and show anger, no, Sable simply remembered. He waited and remembered and got revenge. This one didn’t need revenge, though, since Raven was already overly angry and he knew his sister was already feeling punished enough.

A slight smirk touched the young tom’s face as he saw his siblings’ irritation with waiting for him. Making a cat wait made it clear who had the power and Sablekit liked having power. As a kit he had very little to wield power over but one day that would change. For now he was content to control what he could.

The proposed punishment prompted more of a reaction from Sablekit than anything had so far as his ears pricked and eyes widened with interest. Sneaking into Dawnstar’s den? He almost wanted to lose just to see the inside. However, it would surely prove more interesting to watch his sibling venture in and thus observe the volatile leader’s reaction. Perhaps the loser would return with some interesting new scars!

“Deal.”

The dark brown kit left his input at that and walked away, leaving Ravenkit to bluster and Fallowkit to bounce. Sablekit had formed an idea and now it was time to work out the details before his siblings chose to begin. Somewhere near the back of the den was a divot which had caught Sablekit’s attention days ago. From a certain direction it was all but hidden and thus offered potential to be used for Sable’s advantage. Position the race so that one of his siblings hit it and fell and the race was perfectly rigged in Sable’s favor. All that was left was to choose which of his siblings to sacrifice.

“Over here. This gives us the most space to run. Ravenkit, you go here and Fallow, over here.”

Ravenkit was his chosen loser for multiple reasons. Sable had chosen her partly because he would be less surprised by her beating him than Fallowkit but mostly because the hot-headed feline would provide much more entertainment to Sablekit when she encountered an enraged Dawnstar. Besides, she was too full of herself. If she wanted to crow about how she was going to win than she would have to learn to keep her skills to herself lest someone use them against her.

He had quite the time making fun of his sister; it was humorous to him to watch her fur get all riled up and her anger cloud her judgement. Of course, deep down, he really did care for her, but Fallowkit would never admit that. He could make fun of her all the live long day but the second another cat attempted to mess with her, or even Sablekit, then the claws were out. He wasn't going to allow any cat to mess with his family.

"Watch where you're swinging those paws!" he chirped, letting out a tiny squeak as he felt Ravenkit's paw come down on his head. She must've been paying close watch to Bristleflame, as it felt oddly similar to his mother's punishment. He briefly glared at Ravenkit before his brother's words caught his attention. Gleefully, he skipped over to where he'd been told to stand, casting a wideways glance towards Ravenkit. "Don't you mean when you lose? I already know I'm going to win - falling of the nest or not - and Sablekit will probably trip you up with his slowness. I'm destined to win!" Fallowkit had no issue being this boastful, especially around his kin.

Eyes flickering back to Sablekit, he crouched down, wriggling his rump behind him. "You losers better get ready to eat my dust!" His tiny muscles were tensed in preparation. Eyes were focused on the target ahead. He was ready.

Ravenkit beamed as determination twinkled in her green eyes, she and both her brothers knew that races were more her forte, she may be smaller in size compared to her brothers which disadvantaged her for other things but due to this she was lighter on her paws, all the more reason she was confident in winning. That is until she saw the small smirk that appeared on Sablekit’s face, she was immediately taken aback, her brother rarely showed any type of emotion on his features and when he did it meant he has discovered something that’s piqued his interests...’That smirk- what is he playing at? Oh well I’m sure it’s nothing...’. She thought this but she couldn’t help but feel unease settle in her stomach.

Wearily she glanced at both her brothers before giving in, she readied herself in the spot Sablekit had assigned her to. Ravenkit merely gave a scoff to Fallowkit’s comment. Readying herself she started counting down. 3...2...1..”Go!”. She spoke loudly as she belted off, quickly in front of both her brothers, Fallowkit was quickly on the shekit’s heels with Sablekit right beside him. Her confidence was quickly overriding her nerves until she hit a divot without realising, she tripped and hit the ground with a loud thud. The black furred shekit grunted in slight pain, she hurriedly looked up but it was too late, one trip was all it took and both her brothers were standing at the finish line, both beaming with confidence.

Ravenkit needed to be frustrated.

But all she could feel was fear and nerves erupting in her chest. Dealing with Bristleflame’s punishment for leaving the nursery was going to be a hefty one alone but what her leader Dawnstar was going to do to her if she was caught would most likely be far worse then the 3 moon old kit could even begin to imagine. Although she was young and temperamental, the shekit still had a brain and quite an intellect at times, she’s heard many stories about Dawnstar, Ravenkit looked up to her in a way but she very much feared her, like anyone would. She slowly got up, looking at the ground, she would never admit or show her siblings that she was so scared of something she didn’t need to be seen as a crybaby or weakling hence her blank face but she was struggling to keep her composure. “Whatever...win some you lose some.”. She faked a calm tone although a bit of irritation trickled through as she tried to cover up her fear, she strode up to her brothers avoiding eye contact.

[ @Beau @spade , Hehe, The two of them ganging up on her is humorous, this is definitely going to make Ravenkit mature a bit and think twice before boasting before winning. She is that one person who always tries to act like she’s all good even when she’s really scared or upset pfpf, poor thing is gonna be traumatised after this.]

Gingerkit stomped back into the nursery, russet fur fluffed out in annoyance. Her previously made moss ball hung limply in her jaws, her tiny teeth clamped down hard into the greenery.
No one had come to play with her! They must just be scared of how good she is.
Angerly plopping down her nest, she wrapped her fluffy tail protectively around her body, hoping to block out the chatter of the queens and other kits.

The ghost tabby watched the young kitten stomp into the nursery, frowning slightly at the sight. He wondered what had happened. Decision made, Fallenheart followed after her. The warrior knew that queens sometimes found their paws full dealing with more rambunctious kits, and he knew that sometimes they overlooked the felines not roaring for attention. He would know—and he didn't want any kitten to feel neglected, accident or not.

Fallenheart ducked into the smaller den and walked up to the upset kitten amiably. "Hey," he prompted softly as she wrapped her tail around herself. "Is everything alright?"
