Ashfeather's heart cracked in two, as though it was a very thin sheet of stone that had been stepped on by someone heavy. Yesterday, Whitekit had told her that she couldn't say where he'd gone. She knows... but she's lying to me. Ashfeather couldn't help it. Tears pooled in her eyes, and she looked away, praying to StarClan that her daughter couldn't see them. It hurt, so bad... mentally, not physically, but it felt physical. Whitekit could've told the truth, but she'd lied. Had she raised a kit like that? Was this what her terrible motherhood had led to?
A weak sigh escaped her. She didn't know what to say. Instead, she turned back to Whitekit, her eyes swimming. "I'm your mother. Please don't lie," she whispered. "I'm scared for him. You saw what Dawnstar did to Thunderkit. Please..." She was giving Whitekit one more chance. If she denied... then Ashfeather would let it happen. She loved Ravenkit, but... she somehow could relate to the little kits. How? She'd never kept secrets. She didn't understand, but she didn't want to force Whitekit to tell her.
Robintail considered this for a moment- they hadn’t known all the details of the situation. “Well, still, she should be trying to escape and get back to us!” They leaned in closer and whispered, “How many lives does Twilightstar have left? Do you know? I only just became a warrior, so I don’t know.”

Darkclaw shrugged. "I don't really pay attention to anything that doesn't affect me. Also, Dawnstar had said that she had hurt Twilightstar." Darkclaw meowed.
She looked at her moms back in disbelief. I’m not lying mother. He didn’t tell me where he went. I’m sorry, I would tell you if I knew. she sighed. She turned away from her mom and closed her eyes. Did her mom really think she was lying... I wasn’t. she thought to herself. She couldn’t sleep, guilt and slight anger was flowing over her. She would find Ravenkit, by herself. She would wait until she knew her mom was asleep before she left. @TheNyanCatMinecart
Ashfeather tensed as she saw the anger in Whitekit's gaze, and how genuine her words sounded. Was she telling the truth? She felt so guilty... maybe the two had exchanged something, but then Whitekit hadn't gotten the answer she'd wanted? And now her daughter was angry. The queen didn't know anymore. Gently, she nudged the she-kit with her stretched, distorted nose. "I'm sorry," she whispered, a teardrop falling onto her daughter's back. "I've already failed at being a mother. You don't deserve me."
Without looking back, she slid out of the nursery.
Darkclaw shrugged. "I don't really pay attention to anything that doesn't affect me. Also, Dawnstar had said that she had hurt Twilightstar." Darkclaw meowed.
Robintail unsheathed their claws, digging them into the ground.”How dare she? What right does she think she has to come here, kidnap our leader, and steal our territory? I’m thinking about starting a resistance, honestly...”

"I don't know but she did it. She even killed our deputy." Darkclaw meowed.
(yes)
Whitekit felt the drop of her moms tear on her back and the nose of her mom nudge her. She felt guilty and started crying, tears running down her face as she quietly sniffled. She wasn’t sure if she should go. She felt bad for her mom but couldn’t say sorry. She was too angry at the same time. @TheNyanCatMinecart

“I know...” Robintail looked down. “I wonder if we’ll ever be independent again...” They paused. “And what will Dawnstar tell the other clans at the Gathering?”

Swiftheart glared at the Shadowclan cats around her. It took a lot to make her mad and serious, but she could NOT make a joke out of this. She could NEVER make a joke out of something like this.
