Marigold looked up. She didn´t want Leaf to get hurt, but if she made and noise or movement, then she and Marsh would both die.

Leaf was quite when Death spoke. After a moment, he quietly snapped at twig from the tree branch he was on and tossed it as far as he could into the trees, away from him and the dens. It surprisingly made a very loud thumping noise that got the attention of Death.
Marsh was pacing in the den at that moment, and knew that Leaf was somewhere above. He always had a weird tingling sensation when his brother was nearby. He sat patiently and began washing his paw as if it the most naturally thing in the world to sit in a old fox den while your brother was trying to rescue you.

Marigold felt waves of guilt. It was her fault, wasn´t it? Marsh shouldn´t be here, neither should Leaf. It wasn´t their fight. It shouldn´t be hers, but she didn´t have to drag other cats into it.

Leaf leapt down as soon as Death and Claw were out of sight, he sniffed around, searching for the den openings. He finally found Marigold's and quickly pushed the leaves aside, motioning with his tail to try to climb out.

Marigold tried to climb up the steep wall, but just as she reached her paw up, claws dug into Leaf´s back, dragging him away from the hole.

Leaf growled. Why do my plans never work? He complained to himself. He thrashed his tail and clawed at Death's leg, drawing blood.
Marsh heard the commotion and realized it was time to escape. He dug his claws into the steep wall and climb warily up, his fluffy fur covered in mud.

Montag's mismatched eyes widened subtly, then relaxed entirely, rolling broad shoulders beneath his feathery pelt as he looked the newcomer up and down, a subtle smirk revealing unnaturally extended incisors.
"Feathers, you say?" he mewed, flicking an ear.
This cat seemed interesting--perhaps interesting enough to earn his keep.
"Well, I rather prefer to rip them off of birds, revealing the meat beneath. The same can be said for scales, skin...fur." he mused, tilting his head contemplatively.
"You are a rather bold one, aren't you?"

Montag's attention, difficult and cagey quarry, was deftly snared.

The fawn colored tom's perceptive eyes were hooded, his ears loosened as he imagined a million and one delectable uses for mimicry.

"Oh, a perceptive one, too," he remarked, his chilly lilt gaining a touch of warmth, "I love details, my friend--I am obsessed with them. They are all I think about...garner enough details, and a talent like that could be a precision instrument. And my how I love a well laid trap." he chimed, his peculiar incisors a foretaste of his need for traps.
