Adventure Time!

Orpheus scurried after Lark, his pelt tingling with anxiety and excitement. He was going into the forest! With another cat! Oh, this was so cool! But... also scary. What if another cat attacked?

Well, Lark would help... Probably.

"My mother thought the Clan life was too dangerous, so she left me and my siblings with our father," Orpheus explained, looking around in wonder. "But my father told us stories, and encouraged me to go find her!"

Glancing back to see if Orpheus was still following, he meowed, "So your father was a kittypet? No offense, but I thought that that wasn't allowed." He increased his pace and bounded over a log. @Kyrieknight

Orpheus grunted when he tried to jump over a log, only to get caught on top. He scrambled over, tripping over his paws as he rushed to Lark.

"It isn't, but they didn't care," Orpheus continued. "They fell in love, and had me and my siblings."

Lark slowed as he heard the kittypet stumble over the log, but was surprised when Opheus pulled up beside him. "Nearly there," he mewed, slightly out of breath. "Can you smell my markers? This is the edge of my territory." @Kyrieknight

So that's why it smelled weird. Orpheus nodded, shaking out his gray tabby pelt and following Lark. "Alright. But... what about you? I told you a bit of my family... what about yours?"

... Wait, what if he didn't have family?!

"You don't have to answer if you don't want to!" Orpheus quickly followed, heterochromic eyes widening. "I don't mean to pry! I was just curious, that's all!"

Lark shook his head violently, nearly careening into a tree as he did so. "No, I saw my sister about a season ago. That was where I used to live, but the rogues there were getting really pushy and aggressive, so I left and came here. And she said that she had seen our mother recently, so I guess they're okay. Never had a father." He shrugged. "It is what it is." He stopped in front of a tree. "We're here," he meowed proudly. "It took me a while to find this. Best den I ever had." He squeezed under some brambles and disappeared in a hollowed-out space under the roots. @Kyrieknight

Orpheus stared out into the nearby forest, his tail swinging idly behind him as he sat on the fence. If what the stories of his father said are true, there were wild cats out there. And one of them could be his mother! Since he heard the stories, he often spent time on the fence, desperately hoping to see a Clan cat and find a way to his mother. He was so entranced by the forest that he didn't notice a cat approaching him.

Jett saw another curious housecat staring into the wild cats woods. "Hey!" He mewed.

Orpheus was about to follow when he heard another cat, somewhat close to where his housefolk were. Looking around, he spotted another cat.

"Hi! Who are you?" He greeted. "My friend's somewhat away, but my name is Orpheus, and his is Lark! What's yours?"

"Huh?" Lark popped out of his cave. "Woah, it's another cat," he announced helpfully. "Hey. I'm Lark and this is Orpheus. This is my den right here. Technically, since you're in my territory, I'm supposed to act all aggressive and chase you off. But, since you look friendly and aren't doing anything bad, I really don't care." @Flypaw13 @Kyrieknight

Orpheus turned and sniffed near Lark's den. "Neat! It's really cool!" He said, looking around in the inside. "Big, too! But isn't it lonely being by yourself?"
