"I'm glad newleaf is around the bend. The cold is getting to be annoying. Besides the warmer seasons are always nicer. That's when all the flowers are growing!"

The black and white molly focused her good eye on her clanmate. The lower one wandered over the water of the pond. She just loved the water. "Once we get new leadership we'll go back to being the strongest clan in the forest. I'm just worried about what Shadowclan might do to us once their done with Windclan. We're bound to be next." , she meowed.

Heronflight listened as Barkfuzz changed the subject. She didn' want to talk about everything that was going wrong with her clan. "It's going to be great once new-leaf is here. Far more prey will come back and we'll be filled for days.", she responded.

Heronflight turned to Blizzardsky with a friendly smile. Water droplets dripped from her nose. "Nothing much just wanted to get out of camp for a while. Things are a bit stressful with all that's going on.", she meowed. Her clan was falling apart, but she knew they could easily bring themselves up and find new leadership. Hopefully soon though. It would be awful for them to get attacked and not know what to do.

Blizzardsky flicked his tail,” I’m thinking about stepping up and declaring myself leader, I’d be a good leader, maybe Snakepaw will pick me as leader if I just send out some patrols without being asked?” he meowed again awkwardly touching her back with his tail turning red when he did it.

Anyone had a chance. Well she wouldn't want to be a high rank. No that wasn't something she was interested in. She was still showing her loyalty to her clan.

Blizzardsky gave a soft smile still awkwardly moving his tail around on her back flailing at wrapping his tail around her tail, smiling like an idiot feeling bright red inside.

Heronflight felt his tail on her back. She didn't mind. She managed to intertwine her tail in his. She never once looked. She kept her good eye on the water. She watched as a fish made the water ripple. It was just beautiful. Heronflight loved the water she just never had the chance to learn to swim.

Blizzardsky gave a small smile as Heronflight intertwined her tail with his, gosh why was he so awkward about this, he was just smiling like a literal idiot, then again that might just look like him smiling normally, since he often is seen as an idiot. But he was just happy, but sadly didn’t know what to say really.

"If you ever become leader what would be your first action?", she wandered. She was curious about it now that she thought about it.

Barkfuzz nodded. "And once greenleaf comes around it'll be hot enough to go swimming! I love a good swim in the river." He gave his shoulder a quick lick and pulled a small twig from his matted fur. "I'm sure leafbare is nice when you have a special cat to curl up with though," the tom said bluntly, not really thinking about what he was saying.

Blizzardsky was sitting in awkward silence when finally Heronflight broke the silence,” Well, first I’d send out patrols I guess, and do ceremonies, and figure out who I’d pick as my deputy, but then I’d try to make peace with Shadowclan. As long as I’ve known Riverclan has feuded with Shadowclan, raiding their camps, our leaders scorning the Shadowclan leaders every gathering. I know Dawnstar’s unstable, but I’d try to help the clan get along at the gatherings, ya know. I’d be polite to Dawnstar, if Shadowclan was in trouble I’d be certain to be the first clan to offer assistance, at least so that we view Shadowclan like Thunderclan, strong, but we can be nice to them.” he meowed. of course ending that feud that had been going on since the begining of the clans would be much harder than he suspected.

Vimi paced around the pond, movements stiff and muscles tense. A cattail brushed her flank and she curled her lip in annoyance, smacking it away with her tail-tip. She hadn't given up on RiverClan, but that didn't guarantee anything about the Clan's attitude toward her. Logically, the situation should be no different. Her motivations had not changed and it still made sense for her to join the Clan. But her emotions still rioted in her chest, and she couldn't help overanalyzing- no, stressing about the situation as she waited for some cat to find her. What with Sootstar and Stormcall gone now, she'd heard, it could be a lot harder to actually join the group. Maybe everyone would be particularly hostile. It made sense that they would be; defensiveness was a protective mechanism and wasn't inappropriate for the situation. The warriors were probably just as likely to attack her than bring her back to camp. She sat down uneasily, ear twitching. Perhaps it hadn't been a good idea to come back.

But where else could she go? She had been living as a loner ever since abandoning her twolegs, and it was no life for her. Less of a purpose than she had had in the first place. She raised a foreleg and scratched absentmindedly at her tattered yellow collar. How could she remove it, she wondered? She had been attached to it long enough. It certainly wasn't practical to leave it on for sentimental value.

However much she missed her housefolk.

She sighed. It wasn't the full season yet, but a few frogs were already raising their peeping voices about the pond, which helped. Silence was uncomfortable. She lifted her chin, the dying sunlight glinting off her eyes as she sat, alone. If everything went according to plan, a warrior should be able to find her and she could ask them to lead her into camp. Diplomacy would have the maximum effect if she could muster up enough political eloquence to be convincing. But cats were so hard to read! Why couldn't everything be straightforward, instead of all this delicate social balance nonsense? She began scraping one claw back and forth through the dirt, trying to focus on something besides the inevitable confrontation.

Suddenly, a noise from the other side of the pond caught her attention and she bolted to her feet, whiskers perked and amber eyes narrowed. "Who's there?" she called, straining to see into the deepening dusk. "I- if you're from RiverClan, I want to speak with you." She hated the way her voice cracked, but it couldn't be helped. She took a step forward.
