The tom had been trespassing once again. Why not? This dump had prey, and cats to tease. He had come across a small cat, approaching them with sheer curiosity. "I wouldn't recommend being here, little one, unless you have a good reason, like joining the dumb and stinky Shadowclanners. Let me tell you, they're not the best. You better watch out for the leader" he whispered quietly, eyes narrowed, tail twitching. For once, he was not drunk, and he was glad. The more sober he was around cats with very little knowledge, the more fun he could have with them. "Well, I better get going before I get caught. You better too, if you know what is good for you. Give a yowl if you get lost, but don't make it too loud, because some of those mean murderers might come looking" and with that, he turned and lest, retreating further into the woods, still watching and listening from his hidden hideout.

As soon as he’d finished speaking, the deputy stalked off, tasting the air for the scent of prey. He quickly located a large squirrel and closed it on it, catching it and administering a killing bite.

Berrypaw had missed, but it was ok. "Don't apologize, it's not the end of the world." Waiting for something else to come out of hiding, Scorchstrike noticed a crow hopping in the tree branches. "There's a crow up there," she said, flicking her tail in it's direction. "It wants the seeds on the ground. I'll move to the other side and wait for it to touch the ground. When it does, I'll scare it your way." Scorchstrike slipped away through the bushes as the crow touched ground and began to pick at a worm. When the crow seemed focused enough on it's dinner, she jumped out to scare it towards Berrypaw. @Stormpoppy

Finchwhisker briefly turned around, just enough to catch a glimpse of Shadepaw, who seemed to be doing fine on his own. They were getting close to the deadline hed set for the patrols, so they’d better pick up the pace. How humiliating it would be to be late for his own patrols. That would simply not do.

Stalking off through the hidden pine trails of the forest, it wasn’t long before the deputy had caught a total of three additional pieces of prey - two plump mice and a decently-sized vole. Deciding that was enough, he picked up the four pieces of prey he’d amassed and made his way towards his apprentice. He didn’t come too close, so as to avoid scaring away any prey Shadepaw might be stalking after. However, he did come near enough to be able to evaluate Shadepaw’s form as he took on the task of catching live animals.

He cleared his mind of any distractions, checked to make sure he was down wind, then began to stalk closer towards the chipmunk not making a sound. Suddenly in the blink of an eye he sprang forward kicking up dirt and landed on the chipmunk perfectly placing a paw on it's neck to stop it before it had a chance to squeal, then he quickly sank his fangs into it and finished it purring at the taste of warm blood. "That makes five he said in a satisfied mew that should probably be enough." Then he picked up the chipmunk and padded towards his other catches.

"Satisfactory work," the deputy mewed, nodding towards all the prey the apprentice had caught. If the other hunting patrols failed to come back, he was assured their catches would partially make up for it. "We'd best get back to camp now. I have patrol reports to take care of. And I suppose you may have the rest of the day off." Without another word, he bundled up all the prey he'd caught and started off back to camp, expecting Shadepaw to follow in pursuit.

Quietly padding out of the camp entrance , pride suddenly filled buzzardkits tiny body. They did it! Berrykit and her managed to successfully leave camp! Now all they had to do was find Tigerfang , well , if they could. The territory was much larger than she had expected , shrubbery and tall pine trees surrounding the kits. "Listen , berrykit! There's probably clanmates out here , so we gotta be careful. If we get caught we'll probably get in lots of trouble." she explained , looking at get sibling. Yeah , if they got caught and brought back to camp...it would suck. Even if they explained their reasons as to why they snuck out. "I don't think we have to worry about any monsters though. If we do meet any , I'll just fight them off!" she boasted with a large grin. She was still over joyed that they managed to get out of camp , she felt no worry about any possible dangers. Besides , if anything happened , there were probably other cats in the territory that would help them.
Padding over to an area with lots of shrubbery , she gestured for berrykit to follow her. If they didn't want to get caught , they'd be better off staying near plants that they could hide behind. "Which direction do you think mom went in?" she questioned. If they couldn't decide on a direction , buzzardkit was sure they could both try to sniff around for their mothers scent. 'I'm not really good at scents though.' she thought bitterly , although she quickly shook the thought away. No need for those thoughts-- she could probably master it on the spot if she wanted to!

"Maybe she went to the border with RiverClan!We know those shifty furballs will be up to something eventually." Berrykit suggested. She was okay at scents, bad at sneaking though. She was only good at tracking things because she used to have her birth mom hide flowers around camp, then Berrykit would try to find them.
