Whisperpaw leaned back with a short puff of breath from his nose. "Apparently not," he murmured in response. He could only hope that his own mentor was sensible enough to avoid brambles - those thorns probably wouldn't feel too pleasant against open scars.

Speaking of... one ear twitched uncomfortably as Poisonpaw moved on from the topic. Tell him about himself? Ha. Oh, did he have quite the icebreaker for that. H glanced away and said with a shrug, "Well, my first time out of the nursery was spent being eaten alive by a bat-crazy elder alongside my sister and friend, if that says anything."

Poisonpaw turned and took in the colors that Whisperpaw was emitting. Bitterness. Was it still getting to Whisperpaw or... was it Poisonpaw that caused it. "I'm sorry that happened... Are you ok? Like were you both I mean...? he mewed nervously. He didn't want to make anything akward.


And then he looked dow, shamed covered his whole body a wafted off of him in waves. "I'm sorry I yelled at you." he whispered quietly. He felt so bad about it. He was usually so nice to everyone, usually. Maybe it was because he was mad but that shouldn't be an excuse.

Whisperpaw averted his eyes as Poisonpaw turned to look at him. There was no need for the other tom to see the lasting anguish that lingered there - for what he'd gone through, of course, but also for the fact that he'd been unable to do anything at all against Foxbite. Sure, he'd only been a tiny kit, but still... he could have at least tried to help, right?

When Poisonpaw spoke again, Whisperpaw looked to him again and forced a broad grin and a confident wink. "Ah, don't worry about me. It was a long time ago, and I assume the old codger's long dead now, thinking back to the wounds Dawnstar gave him. Good riddance, I say."

He reached forward to playfully prod Poisonpaw with a forepaw, but drew back as the other apprentice glanced away and whispered an apology. To be honest Whisperpaw hadn't expected one, but it was nice to hear all the same. His whiskers twitched and he leaned forward to nudge Poisonpaw with his nose. "Don't worry about it. You were forced into a thicket of brambles and came out looking like one - anyone would be a bit grumpy."

Otterpaw woke up hearing the other apprentices talking, she held back a groan as she heard the word elders, she loved them and all, but, ugh, I hate taking out ticks, mouse bile is disgusting she thought to herself. She just watched the two talk, listening while her tail curls neatly on top of her paws. @Slushie @Exis

Well, that was definitely the last question he'd expected to be asked. Whisperpaw spent a good couple of seconds blinking at Poisonpaw, trying to process the words that had been spoken to him, before he broke into an identical smile that definitely reached the corners of his eyes. Maybe his scars didn't scare everyone away. "Absolutely, I would," he answered happily.

Ohh, she wasn't supposed to be doing this: creeping inside of the apprentices den. Well, nobody ever said she couldn't. There was no punishment for sneaking into the apprentices or warriors den, not one that she had ever heard of. Besides, this was for...uh, information! After the stuff embershadow had told her, she was curious to see if anybody shared the same opinion (minus smokepaw.)

Buzzardkit looked at all of the larger, older cats in the den. All of these cats looked pretty average, except for one that honestly looked kind of scary to her-- the apprentice was larger than any of the other apprentices, and had scars.

She hesitated for a moment, staring at the tom from afar, before walking towards him. (She was pretty sure his name was badgerpaw.) He'd be the first cat she'd ask!

The calico kit stilled in front of the brown cat, staring up at badgerpaw. Uuurrgh..she got bad vibes from this guy, she wasn't sure why. "Hello, badgerpaw! My not friend." she greeted, an emphasis on them not being friends. "Say, what's your opinion on our leader dawnstar? I think she's pretty cool."

Badgerpaw had been out all morning, trying to find another rogue he could teach a lesson for ignoring clan life. He was just laying in his nest, his face looking like he had gotten into a fight. His face looked angry. It always was like that. A scent filled his nose and he watched with his icy blue eyes.

They almost looked like his eyes were glowing. He rose from his nest as slowly as he could in a creepy way. He was known for being creepy. Badgerpaw hovered right over the kit. With his large size he looked like a giant.

"Thanks for not calling me a friend. I don't need them.", he meowed sarcastically. There was no emotion in his voice. He didn't need friends, especially kit ones. He wouldn't be caught dead with one. Badgerpaw's sky blue eyes looked right into Buzzardkits. "Dawnstar is the strongest leader in the forest. She is everything this clan needs. I'm loyal to her and her alone.", he meowed in a gruff voice. There was admiration for his leader in his voice as well.

Yikes, this guy was definitely creepy...just by the he rose from his nest. By his words, she assumed he didn't have any friends at all. Not a surprise honestly. "riggghttt? I agree too, she's the most awesome leader ever!" she nodded vigorously, exaggerating her agreement.

"oh, but uh, not so sure about the only loyal to her part. What about your family...and friends? If you have any." she muttered the last part very quietly, under her breath in hopes that he wouldn't hear her. Who knew what this guy would do if she insulted him like that and he heard!

Buzzardkit decided to change the subject. "What do you admire about dawnstar? Like...her strength or something else" she questioned. Clearly this guy didn't share the same opinions as smokepaw and embershadow, he wasn't lying either.

Maybe embershadow was the one that was lying? But the stuff he said was pretty convincing and sounded real.

Otterpaw stared at the kit bothering Badgerpaw, “Buzzardkit, why are you here? You aren’t an apprentice yet. And don’t speak that way to Badgerpaw, if you dislike a cat then tell them and leave it at that, acting as you are now does nothing.” she sat up in her moss bed and stared at the kit. “ Besides,” she huffed, “it’s none of your business whether a cat has the same opinion as you, nor whether they have friends or not.” at this point she was slightly glaring at the kit, but glancing at Badgerpaw had her gaze softening a bit, she huffed once more and curled back up in her moss nest. @Angelique

Her paws were itching to go out training or hunting for the first time, she got out of her nest and left the den, but not before saying her goodbyes to Badgerpaw and the other apprentices.
