Ryecloud mostly ignored the RoverClan cats' questions, and thankfully, they didn't ask many more. She beckoned them with a flick of her tail and they qiockly headed toward the camp.

@kieryn @QueenCocaHead @ShadowWing65

(Don't forget, these patrol reports are due on May 2nd! Also, sorry for the long post, I was just hurrying things along a bit so we'd report in on time.)

Rosebriar let out a huffing sound as she trotted over to Sedgewater Valley, the place where Dawnfeather had told the patrol to go. They really didn't have much time left, did they? Glancing around, she noticed that she had gotten slightly ahead of them in her haste to hurry up: Dawnfeather's dark-striped tabby pelt flickered beside Mudpaw's calico-marked one, and she could see the large gray-and-white shape of Onewhisker in the back. Rosebriar flicked her ears. Her legs ached slightly from all this walking, but it wasn't like she wasn't in the mood for hunting. She'd catch as much prey as she could!

Glancing around at the territory, her cute pink nose wrinkled. Seriously, was there a more disgusting place? The ShadowClan border. Rosebriar pushed that thought away. Why did two of WindClan's three borders have to be wet, disgusting places? As in, wet places? WindClan cats surely didn't like wetness. ThunderClan didn't, either, from what she knew. However, RiverClan and ShadowClan were fine with it. Ick. What sort of prey would want to come here? Frogs and toads? Rosebriar shuddered at the very thought of eating those awful slimy creatures. Bending down, she scented the air, trying not to inhale all the weird wetness around her. I hope that I don't get my precious fur all wet! I'll really need to do a thorough grooming if I do. She hated wet paws.

"I'll check a bit further down the border, if that's alright with you," she directed at Dawnfeather with a flick of her head. They really needed to get a move-on. Like, seriously! Why was her patrol so slow? Rosebriar didn't like patrols, mainly because they were just a bunch of walking, and two of their borders were terrible. Hunting patrols were a step up, at least, since she liked hunting. But she'd like a competent patrol, not a big, overeager apprentice, a patrol leader who... well, alright, Dawnfeather was fine. And so was Onewhisker, she supposed. Rosebriar knew that she should probably spend less time complaining, but she didn't want to be late, or seen as incompetent! Especially since certain members of the Clan were disliking her more and more. The poor she-cat was just confused! Why did her Clanmates have zero sympathy?

A flash of gray in the corner of her vision made her turn. "A mouse!" she meowed to her patrol. "Here - I'll just get it real quick." Skunkblaze's mentoring flooded back into her mind. How long had it been since she'd hunted? Rosebriar wanted to get it right, especially in front of this patrol. Yes, Skunkblaze's mentoring, not Crescentmoon's. She had forgotten that Crescentmoon existed, actually. She had been her mentor for such a short period of time. Rosebriar got a little closer to the mouse before crouching down, her elegantly bushy tail lowering to the ground but not quite touching it. Carefully, she crept forward, trying to keep her pawsteps as quiet as possible. Wetness seeped between her toes and she grimaced with the disgusting feeling, her tail puffing out slightly, but relaxed.

The mouse didn't seem to notice her, so Rosebriar got a little closer before leaping. She was on the smaller side, as well as light, so she landed on the mouse pretty accurately. It let out a squeal of terror, its beady eyes looking up at her, and Rosebriar lunged toward its neck with a thrill of delight. I hope you all are watching me! she thought proudly. She wasn't as rusty as she'd thought after all! As soon as she snapped the mouse's neck, though, a dark shadow fell over her. She lifted her head, blinking. Had a cloud covered the sun? No; she saw a huge bird with feathered wings blotting out the sun. It's some sort of large bird, she thought, her formerly sleek pelt now bristling. Quickly, looking around, she hid the mouse behind a clump of grass. No time to feel proud about getting the crouch and stalking technique right, even though WindClan prided itself in speed. Skunkblaze had emphasized the crouch a bit too much.

As the bird got closer, she could tell that it was a hawk. Wait - closer?! The bird was circling above them now, and Rosebriar glanced at the others. "Maybe we should move to a different spot-" she began, but then the bird suddenly dive-bombed toward them. Her claws instantly unsheathed, and Rosebriar let out a yelp as she just barely dove out of the way. The hawk turned toward them, its beady eyes glowing, pointed beak deadly, and huge wings flapping.

Dawnfeather saw rosebriar try to catch the mouse, and brushed it off, instead continuing forward, she padded forward, when she noticed the hawk. What the . . . She saw it dive at them. She leaped out of the way before recovering and jumping at it. She jumped right onto it's back, pushing it down into the dirt. She managed to get a few serious bites and scratches in, but then the hawk slashed at her with it's beak, catching her right on the leg, and she retreated slightly, limping. @kieryn @QueenCocaHead @TheNyanCatMinecart

Mudpaw returned to his patrol with a young rabbit in his jaws, only to see a hawk. He backed away as the hawk singled him out. He tossed the rabbit an lept on the hawk as it dove for the prey. He landed on its chest and he began to claw at its throat as it pecked at him. It dragged its beak deep into Mudpaw leg, making a bone-deep gash. Mudpaw used his remaining lg to slit its throat. He got off the hawk bleeding badly. the hawk had slashed at his underbelly and his leg. He limped over to Dawnfeather " Are-a-are you O-Ok?" He said, gritting his teeth at the pain.

Dawnfeather surveyed the apprentice's wounds. "Better than you are, you need to get to the medicine cat." She says. She smiles slightly. "Nice job though, Mudpaw." She says, glancing at the dead hawk. She turns to Rosebriar. "Can you lead the patrol? I'd continue on, but my leg would slow us down. Besides, I should make sure Mudpaw gets to the medicine cat safely. There could be more hawks around. Never hurts to be safe." She says, trying to balance her weight on her three good legs, blood dripping onto the dirt and staining it dark red. @kieryn @QueenCocaHead @TheNyanCatMinecart

(It's fine!)

Rosebriar got hardly any time to respond as the chaos surged around her. She had barely gotten out of the way when the hawk decided that it wanted to target the other cats instead of her. Dawnfeather was full-on attacking the hawk, and she paused, her claws sinking into the somewhat wet ground. She had to help her, surely. Dawnfeather wasn't a bad cat, and Rosebriar wouldn't just leave her to die, even if it meant the risk of getting her recently-groomed pelt all dirty. Of course, she'd be dirty anyway, so what was the point of hesitating? She was a good enough fighter that she could avoid getting any more scars, as long as she was careful. Even though she cringed at the thought of its sharp beak or talons clawing into her, she knew that she couldn't just stand around like a startled rabbit. Not when she had slow but decent Clanmates at risk! Her head raised, she prepared to charge forward.

But too many things were happening at once! First, Dawnfeather got a horribly deep gash in her leg, and Rosebriar even caught a glimpse of something white - bone? she wondered, a sick feeling rising to her chest. Ugh, that was absolutely disgusting! She couldn't help thinking of Twistedface's tail, and the way the bones poked up, still underneath the fur but sharp and visible. A wave of sickness rose up the lithe she-cat, but Rosebriar pushed the revulsion down. Mudpaw had caught a young rabbit, she noticed as she focused on the fight and averted her gaze, which seemed to make him a more obvious target for said hawk.

Rosebriar tried to lunge forward, if not slightly hesitantly, as the hawk dove for Mudpaw, but it was too fast! How in the name of StarClan could they expect her to have super-speed? If I'm judged for this, then even my own Clan is mouse-brained! She was loyal and would die for WindClan, but only for certain cats. She loved her Clan and not always the cats who were in it. As she neared, however, she slowed down. Mudpaw seemed to be doing a good-enough job, and he... killed it? Shock went through her. Mudpaw was tall, yes, but he was still an apprentice. How had he killed a bloodthirsty hawk?

"Great job, Mudpaw!" she exclaimed, suddenly very relaxed now that the threat was over. "We now have prey to feed most of WindClan!" She surveyed the mess of blood and feathers. "Well, it's a little messy, but it'll do!"

Then she realized how badly Mudpaw was injured and flinched. Ew... of course cats would look disgusting after a battle, but he looked absolutely distasteful. So did Dawnfeather, but it wasn't like it was either of their faults. Glancing over at Onewhisker, Rosebriar saw that, like her, he hadn't gotten involved in the fight. Mudpaw had killed that hawk pretty fast. She relaxed slightly. They can't accuse me of being cowardly or lazy because he didn't fight, either. The she-cat surveyed the scene. Just like Dawnfeather said, they had to get out of here.

Rosebriar was genuinely surprised when Dawnfeather said that she should take the patrol head. She blinked; a patrol leader! That meant that she could make the decisions, right? Yet a perfectly good decision could be made right now: to get out of here. "Thank you, Dawnfeather; it would be my honor. However, with that deep wound on your leg, you'd bleed too much before we got back if you tried walking. Mudpaw is pretty badly injured as well, so supporting him wouldn't do. I'd recommend that we all get back to camp, as fast as we can. Onewhisker's large; he can support you both. I'll get as much of the prey as I can, but perhaps someone could carry the prey on their back? Or I could..." She didn't like the thought of blood and feathers on her back, and pushed down a shudder of revulsion, but she knew that she had to.

"I'll also get the rabbit and the mouse. We have plenty of prey. You two need to get to the medicine den, while I'll talk with Twilightstar and give her the patrol report. How does that sound?" Rosebriar asked, glancing around at the group. It was perfectly sensible, right?

"I-I'm perfectly fine!" Mudpaw insisted resting his nearly mangled leg on the ground. He slightly limped over to the hawk and the rabbit he got and picked them both up. 'IM not weak, I can take it! At least until we get back to camp. Then ill lay down and everything will be better' He thought "Look, ill carry these, and any other prey we bring back. I'm telling you it's not as bad as it looks!" He said with a cheerful tone. In reality, he was shaking, his vision doubling and tripling the longer he had his eyes open. He felt lightheaded and tired, but he wouldn't let anyone help him. He was like that, always in enormous pain but never let anyone help him.

Dawnfeather took the rabbit and the hawk from Mudpaw. "Mudpaw, if you won't let us help you, you'll bleed to death before we can get you to the medicine cat." She says, firmly. "Is that what you want? Besides, you've already saved us by killing that hawk, we can't let you do anything that'll increase your chances of bleeding out." She says, trying to reason with the apprentice.

Mudpaw tugged the rabbit from Dawnfeather " I said I'm FINE" He began to walk back toward camp, or so he thought. He was walking in the wrong direction. He was stumbling offer rocks and dodging trees that weren't there.

(Feel free to mention Leafpaw, his boyfriend. That will make him stop)
