Nodding to Eveningmist as the tom settled down next to him, and seeing that the majority of the Clan had gathered, Buckstar figured he could start.
"This first announcement is something that I think is rather important," he began. "A couple of moons ago, I asked Rainywhisker to be the Clan's medicine cat in order to teach Frostpaw some discipline and to hopefully guide her to a better path. We... all saw how that turned out, and although I'm eternally grateful for what he's done for ThunderClan, he's decided that it doesn't feel right for him to stay in the position. He's stepped down and is going to be returning to his warrior duties."
"We spoke, and he suggested someone to fill his place. He talked to this cat, they agreed, and then they had a vision handed to them detailing the next medicine cat. I've spoken to them about this and they've accepted. So, without further ado, I welcome Sunstripe and Iciclepaw as our new medicine cats."
His next decision came to him in a snap of a second, but it was already in his head and he wasn't going to abandon it. "Actually - Sunstripe, can you step forward, please?"

Silverdust was shocked when she heard the news but smiled as the announcements came. She looked at Buckstar not having a care in the world she knew cats were destined to become different things at different times she just did not know this was an instance of that kind.

Hopepaw walked over to her. "It's okay! Maybe you'll get to be Medicine cat one day!" the gray and yellow tabby mewed with a bright smile.
Huh, Sunstripe and Iciclepaw would be the new medicine cats? Well, it was a surprise, but not an unpleasant one. Both Thistlethorn and Spidercrawl nodded while Spirekit tilted his head. Huh...
New medicine cats? She figured it made sense to want to step down after failing, even if she found the issue irrelevant. She barely knew Rainywhisker, just that he seemed to have a brain over his shoulders, now she'd be sharing
a den with the tom again.
Kestrelflame glanced at the two cats mentioned. Iciclepaw? Was that not the little apprentice she went patrolling with a while back? Interesting. She did not know much about Sunstripe, only the name sounded some how relevant to her memory.
