Lionsoar flattened her ears, hoping that the red tint in them couldn’t be seen by the larger tom if she did so. She took a couple of deep breaths before giving him a smile, a quite genuine looking one to say the least. It was forced though. “I’m not doing the best... but it’s my own problem. Nothing you need to worry about.” She meowed, hoping he didn’t try to delve deeper. She was taking a large step around the truth, but it still wasn’t exactly a lie. It was just the truth, shrouded in a vague fog. As he told her she could continue talking, she realized how weird she had sounded, furthering her embarrassment. But Lionsoar had always been good at hiding emotions. And now was no different. “Well I realized I was talking a lot and I wanted to give you a chance to say something.” She laughed, a small smile coming across her face. Hopefully he can’t see through my facade. The worst thing that Lionsoar felt could happen was if Weaselshade found out about her feelings. She knew that he had some ”thing” going on with another she-cat, and she didn’t understand it, but to her, it looked deeper than friendship.
[eh duplicating but oh well. This one is for Sil and Lion]
Lionsoar was pacing back and forth in the clearing. It was now a day after the latest apprentice ceremonies, and there had been a big surprise for the golden feline. She had been appointed to mentor Silhouettepaw. Whom, later, she found out was Weaselshade’s daughter. His daughter. She had known there was something going on between Fawnfern and Weaselshade, but she hadn't known it was deep enough to bring them to have kits together. And to her, that only meant one thing. That Weaselshade was taken. “This is why I never let myself have feelings for other cats before.” She murmured to herself, stopping in her pacing. The worst part of this though, was that Silhouettepaw looked so much like her father. The cat that Lionsoar fell for even more each and every day. She felt as if her heart was just out to get her her, berating faster every time he came near, causing her blood to rush and her ear tips to turn red.
Today she had told Silhouettepaw that they would be starting hunting training. She may not like the young she-cat very much because of her heritage, but she was of course going to give her a chance. She didn’t like to judge cats just on where they came from. She came from a rogue background. And she felt the least she could do for him was train Weaslshade’s daughter, helping her become an amazing warrior.
Weaselshade saw her ear's go back and was still not convinced she was alright, but decided he wasn't going to dig deeper as it obviously wasn't a comfortable topic for Lionsoar. "Oh, okay," The tom said with a shrug, though it was obvious that he was still not convinced. The tom studied her, she was not sick, so it was probably something emotional bothering her. Lion's got a boyfriend.. He chuckled inwardly at the thought. Remembering the time that Fawnfern had teased him about having a girlfriend, he said nothing as it had upset him greatly. "Oh alright," The tom said, but a silence followed. The tom was never great about silences, and forgetting that he was trying to not dig deeper, he spoke again, "Lion, you're like a sister to me, If there's something wrong, please tell me," The tom's expression changed to a smile when he saw her's, but his words were serious.
Silhouettepaw couldn't have been happier. She was an apprentice now! Her mentor was Lionsoar, her dad's old apprentice. It would be like learning from her dad, but not. Of course Raccoonpaw got to be mentored by dad, she thought bitterly, and then brushed the thought away. Maybe her, her brother, her father and Lionsoar could have training session together at one point. When the young molly spotted Lionsoar, she charged toward the she-cat, skidding to a halt at Lionsoar's side. "Hi! I'm ready for training!" She said breathlessly, "So we're learning hunting today right? I bet you're good at hunting, mom says you're probably a great warrior..." Her voice trailed off when she realized she was probably rambling too much for Lionsoar's liking. She stopped talking, and simply turned her gaze onto Lionsoar, waiting for her mentor to respond, or move, or anything to distract her from the embarrassment.
Rainkit shushed Harekit with a quiet hiss. Just because they were small kittens didn't mean they were invisible, and she reckoned they'd catch unwanted attention if they tread too loudly.
She learned over time that seeing kits wander around freely wasn't too odd a sight in their clan. Yet it was her own nagging conscious that kept her from moving as gaily as her siblings did now. She was in fact very clever for her age, and didn't want their mother's whereabouts to come into question simply because Harekit and Chickenkit had rumbly bellies.
//
"Hey! There it is!" Harekit yipped carelessly, ignoring his sister's earlier warning for them to be careful. He romped ahead to the fresh-kill pile without another word, and dunked his nose into the mound to sniff for his favorite piece. Chickenkit joined moments later.
//
There was never a time Rainkit didn't think her brothers only partway listened to her. They only ever seemed keen on her voice when they needed someone to take responsibility. After that, well, no one could really reach them until their goal for the day was concluded. -In this case, stuffing their faces.
"Chicken, wait your turn. Hare, don't get scraps everywhere!"
Apparently his nose was slower then his ears ,he caught his apprentices voice before his scent causing the tom to perk his ears up and for his eyes to widen and freeze just as he was about to pull away from the ground with a fresh mouthful of grass . ...him of all felines! ... this was a rarely seen emotion in him , and splitpaw was definitely the first to see it thankfully he wasn't one of those cats that found it fun to spread rumors . He was lucky on that note now he wondered just how lucky he was gonna get with the rest .
With what seemed like ages Grassleg swallowed the grass down as he stood up quickly now clearing his throat a few times the embarrassment was prohibiting him to do this action sooner , he pushed that feeling down as much as he could and put on his best and believable angry face,his ears folded back as he swiftly turned around and gave splitpaw a deadly glare his teeth bared now releasing a snarl " Next time tell me before I head out of camp! " He snapped as his tail curled . On the inside he had this awful sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach ,his cheeks burned , and in first time it seemed he felt some regret doing what he did .mousebrained kit .
Grassleg snorted and shook his fur trying to get rid of any blades of grass that decided to catch a ride , well at least splitpaw knew why his mother named him grassleg. "Cmon , your gonna learn how to hunt a rabbit. Learning mice first is too easy" he meowed and turned back around and started walking forward " and keep up" he half growled now trotting with that sinking feeling still hanging around .
Splitpaw waited patiently for his mentor to finish whatever he was up to, but did not expect what happened next. The older tom came up to him with bared teeth and ears flat against his head, and furious eyes glaring straight at him. It occurred Splitpaw for the first time that Grassleg was bigger than him. Much bigger. Keeping himself planted, he folded back his own ears. His chest hummed like hummingbird wings but he tried not to show it. Here for the first time in his life, Splitpaw felt something stronger than his usual boredom. Fear, and rising quickly to cover it up, something warm... Saying nothing, he trotted after Grassleg, breaking into a lope to keep up with the bigger cat.

The white feline didn't bother to look to see if splitpaw was following he kept his eyes forward as he speed walked, he was quickly looking from left to right trying to find any rabbits that were foolish enough to think that it's safe for them to wonder . Sadly he didn't find any right away making him frustrated , it seems that the other warriors nearly wiped the territory clean of its prey! . He released a growl at that , he finally looked over his shoulder at splitpaw "it looks like the others beat us. But we will keep searching , if you happen to find a rabbit or smell it let me know .understood?" he asked as he stopped for a split second some strong wind blew at them causing his short fur to be blown backwards once he looked forward his eyes squinted as his face met the wind making his ears fold back. He grunted and pushed against the force with some ease it was difficult to walk through strong winds but he was used to it and he knew that it would be over pretty soon ,besides they were on grounds that had no trees or anything to block them so they were bound to get blasts of wind.
