| BadgerNose |
| 28 moons | dark pelted she-cat with a white chest and face, very short tail | "this life might not look like much too you, but i'm content. Isn't that all that matters?"
BadgerNose smiled, purring and really just
showing how happy she was.
And then she shrugged, telling him that she
didn't really know why she was so excited.
She then stood back up and she padded to the fresh
kill pile and when she got back to QuietMouth she dropped
a squirrel, suggesting to share some prey.
No, no, no, no! Mosstangle ran as fast as she could at Pondlily's order without hesitation. Her mind was a haze as everything passed by her in such a flash. She had wanted to stay, to fight with her clanmates, but it was only a matter of time before someone would get hurt, or worse...!
The dark tabby pelted in through the entrance of camp and went to any warriors or enforcers she could find. "There's a fox in evergreen grotto! We need reinforcements; Pondlily, Ravenfeather, and Blackjaw are fighting it now!" Her eyes specifically sought out Dawnstar, Mistlewhisker, and Hawkbite, but she would speak with any warrior who would listen before moving on to the next as quickly as she could.
Mudslide watched blankly as snow fell, her own inner thoughts dulling out as she became more aware of her surroundings. The chill of leaf-bare was a wake up call, that's for sure. She had half forgotten that she was out here for a reason. Even if she wasn't exactly sure what that reason was. She figured Enforcer's had to be constantly observing the clan, but she much preferred beetles over any cat. Well, most cats.
The low crunch of snow beneath paws made her muscles stiffen. The noise only got louder, so she lifted her gaze, but not her head, pale irises looking toward Mistlewhisker. She nearly stirred from her sudden appearance, chances are she would've jumped a bit if she hadn't lost her train of thought.
The deputy's comment was sarcasm, obviously, but Mudslide didn't respond. It wasn't exactly something that needed a reply. And then she got really confused. Maybe Mistlewhisker just didn't have anycat to share prey with, but Mudslide doubted that. She was the deputy, wasn't she? She'd have to have some form of social standing, right? Why couldn't she ask anycat else? Mudslide didn't exactly like to talk, or be acknowledged. So why was she here? Maybe Mudslide had a habit of looking sad and soggy. I'm gonna have to work on that. Mudslide thought, her mind buzzing.
But, Mudslide nodded without protest. She wasn't exactly starving, but a bite wouldn't hurt her. She wound her tail around shaking paws before she leaned slightly and nuzzled the prey with her nose. It was already somewhat eaten, but she expected that, her mind just took note of it. She took at most two bites before she retreated to her previous stance, jaw quietly working to chew through meat.
She figured Mistlewhisker had something to gain from this. Nocat really talked to Mudslide, not that she minded, unless she had work to do. There was no other foreseeable reason in her mind.

As Mudslide took a few hesitant bites, Mistlewhisker settled into a large loaf nearby. The sun trickled through the cedar tree branches, lighting up patches of Mistlewhisker's pelt a rich brown. Her single green eye scanned the clearing, narrowed against the sunshine. Silence stretched between them, but to Mistlewhisker it was comfortable. She rather enjoyed just sitting in silence and watching camp. She felt as though Mudslide might be a kindred spirit in that.
Mistlewhisker was one of the last cats who felt the need to fill silence with speech, so she didn't put Mudslide out of her misery by starting a conversation for them. No; she let Mudslide eat the mouse, then took it again for herself, content to be content.

Sunpaw sat, he thought about his mentor and was frustraited. "Why do I get the lame Mentor? Can't someone else get him?" He muttered, looking around at all the able-bodied warriors, jealous of their apprentices.

Lynxpelt heard the apprentices crude remark and looked up from his mouse. "You're lucky you get any mentor with that attitude," he mewed sternly. "Just because they have to fight and hunt differently, doesn't make them any less skilled. You should be honored to be training under any of the warriors in this clan," he scolded.
