The busier it gets, the closer Maggotpaw draws to its sister. This must be a mild annoynce, to have a bony parasite clinging to one's side, but Maggotpaw tries their nest to make up for it by being informative. Ish.
"There's lots of cats and they're all ugly except the ones from home. And there's not really any clouds, so I guess everyone is behaving, says Starclan..." even if things had started to seem a little combative between Riverclan and Thunderclan's most important cats, but maybe Starclan keeps their standards low for those guys. "Almost everybody is kicking cats out. Where do the kicked-out cats all go to? They should just die like what Shadowclan did." It's the same thing, isn't it? How is someone supposed to even know that they're alive in the first place if they don't have a clan to tell them so? Your clan shows you how to do everything, tells you what your name is and who you're supposed to be and what it's your turn to go and do and where you have to gonto do it. Who does those things for the kicked-out cats? Maggotpaw blinks, imagining faceless nobody-cats milling around in circles waiting for somebody to send them on a patrol or out to train.
The thought makes it uneasy, so it decides not to entertain it for long. Whatever. It doesn't matter that the kicked-out cats aren't dead for real; they're obviously close enough to it now.
"Now we're going. Riverclan and Thunderclan are maybe mad but Twilightstar's not. I don't know about Shadowclan." Maggotpaw rises, skinny tail twitching. "But we're going slooow. I don't know anyone, I think, anyone that I wouldn't know already anyway, or I'd show them you." It recalls bothering a few other apprentices in this place, once upon a time, but it hasn't seen either of those faces tonight. "Are you ready to go?"
She sat rigidly on the stones, listening to the announcements and the back and forth between RiverClan and ThunderClan. Aside from the loads of exiles to keep in mind, nothing else caught her attention and she was delighted when Twilightstar wrapped up the gathering. The she-cat watched as the other clans slowly vacated the beach.
Dawnstar left the leaders' perch and called for Mistlewhisker's attention with a sharp flicker of her tail. "Gather all the Enforcers and head to the Mossy Lookout, I'll meet you there with Mossfreckle once I get the clan settled in for the night." Yes, she had noticed the shared glance between the deputy and the Enforcer commander, any other time it'd rub her fur wrong, but it was expected as of now.
She didn't give her mate any time to reply as she began leading the way out of the gathering. "ShadowClan move your asses." She roared, still livid. Dawnstar hastily marched out of the gathering without waiting for her clan to follow her. Keep up or eat her dust.

Leopardpaw listens to Maggotpaw's words.
Hmmm.
Definitely food for thought on the whole exile part.
"Maybe they'll become kittypets or something?" She offered.
Killing them didn't sound so... great, after all. If every cat who did a bad thing was murdered like in ShadowClan, would that make the leader who chooses to do so much better than that rogue that...?
Nevermind. Moving on.
She quickly figures out that they're leaving, base on the shifting, Maggot's words, and what she could hear from where she was in general. "Mhm!" Leopardpaw hums in reply to Maggotpaw "Maybe we can take a super warm nap in the apprentice den when we get back."
It is getting pretty cold, after all.
Sometimes she wishes her fur was as long as their dad's, staying warm would be a lot easier if that was the case.

Well, it seemed this Gathering was significantly more tense than last Gathering. Mistlewhisker listened to Stormstar and Bumblestar spit at each other over a border scuffle, irritation building. Crowtooth tried to alleviate the tension by asking about ridiculous patrol excuses, earning a wry scoff from Mistlewhisker, but just as she was about to answer, Twilightstar ended the Gathering. Ah well, another time. Each Leader called their clans, everyone eager to go home and sleep.
Dawnstar beckoned her over as she leapt down from the Sea Stones, and Mistlewhisker nodded to Crowtooth and Owltalon before striding to her mate's side. Ah, it seemed she wouldn't have to wait long for a meeting to explain what exactly was going on. Dawnstar had already peeled away as Mistlewhisker gave her a nod, and the Deputy turned to bellow over her shoulder. "HAWKBITE! ENFORCERS! With me. Now." Once she was certain she had their attention, the ShadowClan Deputy made her way to the Mossy Lookout.

So Seabreeze remembered who she was... though it made sense, hearing her name from the warrior was still a little suprising. They'd never talked before, so in her mind she expected him to be completely unfamilar with her. She was glad that he wasn't, and a little embarassed that he was aware of her existence.
"Yes, it is," Stonepaw meowed simply. She thought about whether she did have any questions for a few moments, maybe putting a little more effort into it than needed, since a polite "no, i'm fine, thanks" would've sufficed. But now she had the opportunity to learn something from Seabreeze. She didn't want to just pass that up.
"Um... is there anything I shouldn't do during the Gathering? Or should do?" Stonepaw knew she was supposed to listen, which also meant staying quiet. Was there a Q&A time where everyone could ask questions? That'd probably take too long... but if everyone raised their paws, then the leaders could just call on them. In Stonepaw's opinion, a time for questions sounded like a good idea. Then nobody would be confused.

The warrior offered a small, reassuring grin- or at least tried to- understanding anxiety quite well. Then he turned himself to pay attention to the questions being thrown his way. "Those are good questions. Generally I would be careful when you are near the other clans and be polite, but not friendly. I don't understand making friends with clans that turn on you in an instant. And honestly if you listen to your high ranks and be polite then you'll be fine." Because honestly, gatherings were really that easy. He opened his jaw to say something more before he was cut off my the many many announcements. Well everything was on par with the usual Gathering announcements.
Seabreeze stood up, already ready to go and looked to Stonepaw, "Pretty standard gathering stuff, they're pretty much the same thing over and over again." he wasn't really trying to be pessimistic but he thought that was a pretty accurate description of what happened. "Time to head home and catch some Zs before the dawn patrols are handed out." Man, he was a star in conversations and socializing yep. He almost wanted to apologize but he simply waited for the apprentice's reply first.
Oh right, kittypets. But kittypets aren't real cats, are they? The same way that a mouse is a real flesh and blood thing like a cat is, but doesn't have cat-thoughts and cat-feelings, so it's okay to kill them and eat them—that's how Maggotpaw thinks of kittypets and other outsiders. If the difference between them and clans wasn't a stark and fundamental one, then the threat of exile wouldn't be the grave thing that it is. Exile, therefore, must be a changing-thing. Maybe even worse than execution, which is only an ending-thing.
"I bet they wished they died then." Maggotpaw decides. It's not fun to be a thing for so long and then be made to change. It knows this. "Shadowclan are nice. They only killed their bad-cat. They didn't make it change."
A super warm nap..."I am bumping your shoulder!" Maggotpaw announces before executing, flat top of their head pressed fondly against Leopardpaw's shoulder, because Leopardpaw is such a Good Ideas Cat and Maggotpaw is so, so glad. "Okay there. We're going now. Then we can nap. We have to nap." Whisperinghive still owes them a nap, too...but it hold on to that debt for now. A siblings-nap is what Maggotpaw wants right now.

The herbalist could almost leap with joy. If only her haunches weren't frozen rock solid at this point in time. Twilightstar had announced the end of the stars forsaken gathering. No more of this heatless nightmare. And to think... next gathering it might just be snowing. The horror.
Stiffly getting up as Wolfpaw bounded off the medic's perch to join his own clan, she allowed her gaze to stare emotionlessly in his direction for only a moment before she turned to Berryshine, a cheeky grin on her face as she twitched her tail. The RiverClan medic was - unlike their leader - silent, a bit shy at a glance. Lightningstorm felt a sense of nostalgia wash over her at the sight of the timid she-cat, although she could not for the life of her understand why. Yet she felt it was necessary to enforce the fact that not everyone was feeling resentment towards RiverClan. To assure in her own silent way that they had handled the sentence dealt to them and returned.
As far as she was concerned, as long as they didn't revert back to their old, roughish ways - which they had obviously not done thus far - there was little sense to cling on to a pointless grudge.
"Until next moon, love. Time to go home, Ears. You think if we pretend it's a race we can get away with bolting ahead of everyone else back to camp? You know what? Don't answer that," she mewed at Berryshine before turning to her apprentice, what had seemed like mischievous plotting soon turning into an exaggerated groan of defeat as she made her way back with the rest of the cats to WindClan's open moors.
Isn't that a direct threat? Wasn't the whole three against one supposed to make the plate even, but here the Thunderrogues were threatening the life of her leader. All for a justified reason for Stormstar to be upset. A warrior trying to wrangle an apprentice shouldn't get maimed nor should the other 'leader' incentivize this. Yet once again these rogues were showing their true nature, it was revolting to her. Once they got back she was going to have to do something. "Disgusting..." Adderstrike spat under her breath before she turned to follow her leader back to their home. While she walked back her eyes scanned for Larkwing wondering if she came or not.

Stonepaw silently absorbed what Seabreeze told her, turning his words over in her head. She didn't think that making friends from other clans was a bad thing... Maybe that was something an older cat could understand, but to her, any cat who "turned on you in an instant" didn't sound like a real friend. Friends should be nice, and supportive, and always there for you. ...At least that's what she imagined them being like.
The announcements began after Seabreeze finished talking, so Stonepaw sat and watched the leaders each share their news. She couldn't understand some of it, and they all seemed kind of mad at eachother the whole time. Were they always like that?
Some of what they said worried her, too. Mentors hurting their apprentices? Cats maiming eachother? Execution? Stonepaw knew that cats got in trouble for being disloyal and trespassing ever since she was a kit, but the fact that they sometimes got killed for it was... well, she didn't know how to feel. It was part of life, but was it really so bad to just meet with a friend from another clan?
Stonepaw tried to stop thinking about it, uneasy about the questions she was asking herself. If you disagreed with your leader, did that mean you were being disloyal too? Would she get in trouble for maybe, just a little, not liking everything the clans did?
Stonepaw would probably be fine. If every cat who questioned things got in trouble, then there would be nobody left in Riverclan, right? She was still too wary to ask Stormstar herself, but getting exiled wasn't something she should be fretting over.
The apprentice stood up right after Seabreeze did, not wanting to dilly-dally when Riverclan was called to leave. According to him, Gatherings were usually like this, whatever that meant. Usually angry, or cold, or with announcements about cats being executed? Was there ever an unusual Gathering? Stonepaw tried to imagine a pleasant, warm night where all the leaders were happily chatting and everyone was being friendly. The idea made her left out an amused huff. That seemed very unrealistic.
"Yeah... I'm ready to sleep too." Now that she thought about, Stonepaw did feel really tired. Maybe that was why she was thinking silly thoughts about Stormstar and Bumblestar being pals. She blinked her eyes slowly, trying to keep herself awake for the walk home, staying close to Seabreeze.
